Beware My Power-Green Lantern's Light
On New Years Day, 2020, a large cigar shaped spacecraft enters our solar system and accelerates towards Earth. After 24 hours, it enters orbit around Earth and proceeds to hijack every TV, radio, and internet signal on the planet to transmit a message to humanity. Whether your TV, laptop, or cell phone was off at the time, it turns on and are met with a captioned and audio translation for them to understand.
They introduce themselves as members of the Galactic Federation and wish to initiate first contact procedures with humanity. However this comes with us needing to know some information, much of which revolves around us and how long they've been watching us.
For the last few million years, they've been watching and protecting the planet, including us and our ancestors. They've taken a special interest in our world because planets like our own very rare(in astronomical terms), an intelligent species is even more rare. This has led to some incidents at various points over the last 50,000 years as a few factions have tried taking over the planet and exterminating humanity. In response, a permanent task force has been stationed in the solar system for the last few thousand years with the job of keeping Earth and it's people safe.
They explain that while things most abductions reported on Earth were made up, a number were real and resulted in the perpetrators being arrested. They also explain that due to various gaps in security measures, a few nations on Earth(America, Britain, Nazi Germany, Soviet Union) have been contacted by outside groups and often received technology in exchange for those groups doing as they please. While many were scientists who simply sought to learn more about humanity, some were sadists who enjoyed torturing primitive species, some were interstellar porn companies, and some were their equivalent of backwoods hillbillies and drunk college kids fucking with the locals. Suffice to say this pissed the Federation off and they greatly increased the security garrison on the outer edges of the solar system.
But that's not all. As well as keeping outside threats at bay, they've also eliminated threats among our own people. One of the main things they accomplished was the disabling of every nuclear weapon on the planet, no matter the country. They reveal that if they had not done so, humanity would've engaged in nuclear war multiple times. They've also kept tabs on every politician, world leader, and anyone with large amounts of money and influence, which in many cases have much of the government in their pockets, for the past 250 years. They inform us that due to said surveillance, they have enough evidence to convict a vast majority of said individuals on crimes ranging from corruption, murder, rape, and starting unjustified conflicts. The P5, all of the Middle East, Africa, and South America have the largest concentration. They proceed to leak this data on every available source on the internet within minutes. This also includes information on various events throughout history, including files from sources such as the CIA, MI6, Mossad, MSS, and FSS.
The last point they also explain is perhaps the most shocking, but also their biggest revelation, is that they've kept constant surveillance on every single human on the planet since the end of the first world war. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Not only have they accomplished this by bugging every single communication and electrical device on the planet, but by the use of microphones embedded in microdrones all over the planet. Ever see a bug in your room that you just couldn't catch and kill? It's a drone meant to watch over you. This means they've cataloged every known criminal on the planet.
Now they aren't petty and don't seek to have someone arrested for jaywalking or someone who stole something from the local grocery store to feed their family. What they focus on are crimes such as murder, rape, torture, armed robbery, assault, terrorism, and government corruption. The first three are punishable by death in the Federation and will not be tolerated. They send a warning to all such criminals on Earth to turn themselves in immediately to local authorities. Any attempt by said individuals to commit more heinous acts will result in them utilizing security forces to apprehend them.
All recording taken by surveillance drones and bugged devices get wiped after 24 hours unless they pertain to any of the aforementioned crimes, which is monitored mostly by advanced AI. Input from biological beings is rare due to the design of said AI.
