Business & Finance All Portland Walmart stores to permanently close

A total creep
You clickbait tease you!
:D
This is what I found:
Walmart is preparing to close two of its biggest Portland metro area stores — and the only two actually located within the Portland city limits.

But wait, there's more!

New York Post said:
"We have decided to permanently close our downtown Portland cafe (1171 SW Jefferson St) with the last full day of operation being this Thursday, April 13," the chain wrote in an Instagram post. "The team members at this cafe have been on the front line enduring extreme violence and criminal activity on an almost daily basis for the last few years– crime and violence that is only increasing in frequency and severity."

It added further that this crime has ranged "From theft, to physical displays of violence, threats of harm, break-ins, window smashing, and repeated traumatic in-cafe incidents where both staff and patrons feel unsafe."

"We have brought all the resources to bear that we have access to: doubling up on shifts, locking one entrance, de-escalation training, hazard pay, and heightened management oversight. This has proven to not be a temporary situation—and it is not a situation we can manage," Coava Coffee wrote.

Rest in Peace Coava Coffee Roasters.

Actually now that I look into it... a lot of Wal-Mart stores are closing.

Some of them seem pretty normal business stuff. Pick-up only concept stores being closed for example or stores in random places like Hawaii.

But four Wal-Marts are closing in Chicago... and another Wal-Mart is closing in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota (where Daunte Wright shooting and protests took place). One can only wonder if "underperformance" could be related to some sort of situation perhaps unique to Democrat run urban communities.

I wonder what sort of losses those stores were reporting? You can cheat self checkout after all.

Noooo not REI!

All of those people engaging in longterm urban camping within Portland will have nowhere else to... uhhh provision themselves. This is so discriminatory, closing down outdoor retail stores where the demand for their products exists the most.

Going the way of the smaller outdoor retail store that closed last Novermber, Rains PDX.

It may be worse than that. Does Portland have a sales tax they issue to stores that operate inside city limits? Because that source of tax income is going to dry up as more stores leave the city.

Exiled Records closing its doors after fifteen years in operation in idyllic Portland, allegedly due to an increase in crime and breakings and a reduction of customer foot traffic to the location.

Why is this happening?!?!?!

This lawlessness must've been inspired by seeing all of those Right Wingers storming the Capitol on January 6th.

Would be interesting to see how long before a store goes members only. Like if I had to run a shop in a shop lifting city I would go "nope, put up twelve hundred dollars per year for a membership. when you become a member you get twelve hundred dollars in store credit".

Then use locking entry booths that they have to swipe their card to get into the store proper.

Oh, and bury in the membership agreement that they agree that any theft makes them liable for twenty thousand dollars in damages and that arbitration is required.

Call the cops? Screw that. Private cause of action that they have already agreed to when they signed the membership agreement for the win.

0% intrest if they pay off the debt in a year from time of purchase. 34% if they keep it on the card.
