• The 'Comrade' title is now available in a fetching communist red for purchase by all of you capitalists who survived the Sietch gulag during the people's revolution. And in the spirit of all communists everywhere, it was broken until the capitalist pig dogs fixed it. ;)
  • Your beloved Boot here with a confession. The Boot tangled its laces and failed to properly set up the new Comrade user title. Thanks to the kind intercession of Emperor Tippy this failure has been corrected and the new user title is now actually on sale to everybody.

Some minimalistic Art I made of Takasugi Shinsuke from Gintama. He's a major antagonist and later anti-hero of the series. He's honestly one of my favority characters from the anime and is based off the real life historical figure: Takasugi Shinsaku as are many of the main characters from Gintama.

What do you guys think?

It's a striking figure, despite how little is there it feels like there's a lot of emotion in it, your art always feels like the saying that less is more, there's a lot of artists who don't understand that, and just keep adding details to it when they get as much with less. Really, I can't understate how much I enjoy this.

It's pretty good: you boiled down the essential elements while keeping the figure recognizable. Not bad for using about 5-6 colors?
Yeah basically. I'm glad you like it.

Elegance in simplicity.
You, @Basileus_Komnenos , are a master of this form.
Thanks man!

I've rarely seen minimalist art this good while maintaining quite a bit realism.
I tried as best as possible to sort of match the color schemes from the original visual from the anime.

That's kind of what I was going for as that fits with Takasugi's character in Gintama. Betrayed and wronged by the world, he's on the warpath with the fire of vengeance burning in his heart.

Hence the minimalistic style. This is kind of the main reasons why I quite like Minimalist aesthetics and art styles. There's something about how sharp and crisp it all is. I think it largely started after I started buying Apple products lol.

Really, I can't understate how much I enjoy this.
I think you'll enjoy some of the others I have in the works. I plan on making some more for Bleach as well as I work my way through the series in anticipation of its return this/next year for the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc.

Here's some minimalistic art I made of Old Man Zangetsu from Bleach. He's essentially a manifestation of Ichigo's Quincy powers, and as such he looks like a younger version of Ywach: the Father of all Quincies.

Here's some minimalistic art I made of Yhwach. He's main villain during Bleach's Thousand-Year Blood War Arc.

What do you guys think of these?

Here's some minimalistic vector art I made of Kisuke Urahara, or "Hat and Clogs," as Ichigo calls him. What do you guys think?

I've also posted this on my Deviantart page if you guys are interested.

I suppose I need to watch some of these shows, so far I haven't recognized a single character you've drawn.
You definitely need to watch Code Geass. Despite some of its faults, its probably got one of the best anime protagonists in addition to a really epic ending.

Bleach is also pretty good as well. Just skip the filler if you want a better experience with it. If not then just read the manga as that's probably the better version especially with Kubo's cool character designs.

Thought the final arc was a bit rushed (near the end) as Kubo's heath was failing/he was pretty badly injured. His editors were also pretty much borderline working him to death as well.
