Versus Match Clone Wars force swap: IoM forces.

Instead of Jedi and Clone Troopers the Republic now has 3 legions of pre-Heresy space marines and an equivalent number of elite Imperial Guard, respectively.

The legions are as follows:
1. The Ultramarines.
2. The Iron Warriors.
3. The Alpha Legion.

The legions have all their assets as well as

The Clonetrooper replacement shall come from a mix of Cadians, Catachans, Death Corps of Krieg and Inquisitorial Stormtroopers extracted from the WH Verse as prior to the 13th Black Crusade.

ROB has somehow handwaved the Imperium forces's rampant xenophobia away for this one.

The ground forces keep their standard gear, but get their transport replaced with Acclamators.

Space Marine ships will have hyperdrives installed as replacement for their warp drives.

FIGHT!

Dont Imperium of Man forces stomp Clones and Storm Troopers?

Considering how many sources of canon we have for Clonetroopers, which IIRC includes Karen Traviss Clone whank and stuff like Republic Commando?

Dunno.

I'm fairly certain they do. And I say this as not a fan of the universe at all.

The Imperial Guard are far more experienced, with a better handle on combined arms combat that the Clones are. One high end mention of the power of a long las (snipe rifle) using a hot shot (about half a power pack) can vaporise the upper half of an armoured human, I don't think we've seen anything close to that with SW blasters.

In addition to their lasguns, standard unit can have anything from normal fragmentation grenades, mortars, rocket launchers and automatic squad support weapons to autmomatic rocket propelled munitions (Bolters) that can turn a human into a fine mist, plasma weapons that can punch through armour several meters thick and a multitude of grenades that include biological, chemical and demolition capable warheads (a single krak grenade can blow open a 40k era bunker wall).

And that's just what a squad can carry, once you get to vehicles you start to get weapon carriers that can penetrate a mountain from several dozen kilometers away while carrying enough defence weapons to hold off a Space Marine Platoon or two. And that's without going into the Titans which are something altogether different (and far scarier than than anything the Republic can put together on the ground).

Realistically if you replace all the clones with people who have been fighting for most of their lives (for some Astartes this is in the centuries) and have survived this far? The CIS ground forces have no chance at all.

Edit: Then we have the weapons available to the Space Marines, some of those are rare and esoteric but are terrifying even to Chaos troops, so take from that what you will.

This seems gratuitously one-sided. Replace the Battledroids with the Necrons and maybe there'd be a real fight.

Hmmm...could Palpatine take a Primarch?

Depends on the Primarch, but for most its unlikely. He's outmatched completely, most of his force abilities would be useless or countered pretty easily. His physical capabilities would likewise be useless meaning that the only chance he has is to run or have some form of overwhelming trap in place which again will only work against some.

The other question: Do the Legions HAVE to obey the Chancellor/Emperor? In other words, do they all have the biochips inside their heads?

No, they think they are doing the Emperor's will by killing off the Alien-controlled Abominable Intelligence armies.
Otherwise Girlyman and his weirdo bros are just as autonomous as they were during the crusades.

Well the Jedi no longer exist (unless they are still around just not on the battlefield) due to being replaced by the Astartes (who have psykers that make Yoda look like a stuffed toy). So arguably Palpy's won, at least until its found out that he's behind everything, then the Primarchs and their legions will be having words with the old prune.

If the Jedi do exist still, then post war they may be rounded up by the Astartes anyway for being Psykers (depending on if they recognise the Jedi as licenced) as will any Sith and there's no way that once they are in range that Palpy won't be picked up by the Primarchs or the librarians of their legions.

When (not if) it comes out that he was responsible for both sides of the war, well then things get 'messy' for the would-be false Emperor.

Not prune. Pretty Boy.
Well, pretty Old Boy.
No self facial by way of Windu.

Old prune is also something of an insult where I'm from, but you are right he isn't scarred yet (although depends if you believe thats what he looks like under a force disguise.)
