One of the interesting things... besides the hope that we'll have hundreds of M48 Pattons engaging each other on the battlefield, and before doing the Turkish Navy is that Turkey actually does seem a bit more capable then Egypt on the face of it. Egypt seems to have scads more stuff, but the Turks have their own indigenous industry and some interesting capabilities, like their own aerial refueling tankers for example and tactical ballistic missiles from China and things like ATACMS.

Another interesting thing, Turkey had more frigates, until Mexico nudged the numbers into Egypt's favor.

Yeah according to the Gini Index Egypt is actually more corrupt, but outside of their Salafist Insurgencies it doesn't seem like they have anything on the scale of the Cartels. They also have a huge amount of Central Security Forces, three times the size of Mexico's Federal Police. It could be interesting... instead of sending criminals to American prisons, they get sent to Egyptian prisons. Egypt might be more resilient to Mexican-based Cartel influence, especially if they are sequestered away from the Egyptian inmate population. Likewise the 'Baksheesh' might be less influential on Egyptian Security Services.

Obviously the Cartels would be a serious problem still, but it would be mitigated I think from this less perfect Union if we handwave the Union in the first place as we have for this thread in the first place.

But yeah, Mexico is an industrializing power and a solid location for skilled labor. It could attract lots of investment as well as support Egypt's military both with industry and manpower in a longer term conflict with Trump's Noble Duology.

Well in that case Mexico might have a moderating influence on their compatriots. Lifelong rule has been an issue with Egypt for a while now it seems. And despite as corrupt as Mexico has been, it has managed to wheeze out a few decades of stable elections in spite of this new era of Mexican Drug War instability.

The new dual Republic of Mexgypt has to mutually support each in dealing with each others internal crisis lest Hungry Hungary-Turkiye gain the advantage. Though Turkey has its own issues going on as well...

That's when they were clearly authoritarian. Despite the ongoing civil conflict and political corruption in Mexico, they at least can hold relatively stable elections. Egypt might be able to learn from them. Any attempt at Egyptian authoritarianism would be hard to press upon a Mexican population half a hemisphere away anyhow. Since OP fiat compels them to be together, the Egyptian political and military oligarchs will have to work with their Mexican brethren.
