But the short version is that nearly everything on the gun was either badly made, badly designed, or just didn't work right at all, but the Brits couldn't or wouldn't replace it, so they had HK come in and fix all of them. Which HK did by replacing the barrel, bolt, firing pin, cooking handle, ejector, gas system, hammer, magazine, magazine housing, recoil spring, ejector spring, and catch spring. For the non-firearm people out there, that's basically everything single part and mechanism that makes a gun work as a gun, save for the trigger assembly.
