Helldivers! Managed Democracy Foreign Affairs Simulator!

Oh finally a video from Gaming YouTubes premier barely professional biologist breaking down the (oil spilling) Terminids of Helldivers fame.

Roanoke Gaming be coming with the Undemocratic Terminid Biology video.

Maybe an Automaton one next? Who knows.

Is this game worth getting?
Gonna probably get it to play with my brother in law when I get paid?

Yes.

It's more fun with others though. Though you don't need a full foursome. It's just the more the merrier. :sneaky:

I'd say if is worth the money, I am having lots of fun, but playing solo is kinda meh, it is VERY squad oriented and you need good coordination and discipline of you wanna go after higher difficulties, be effective at gathering stuff and doing all objectives within the time range.

It is also a console port, and it is visible, there are annoyances related to "dialing" strategies and other bits of UI.

Matchmaking could be better, and I have had a few glitches happen, so the game could do with some improvements.

However, after about 60 hours of play I can say that it is a lot of fun, I enjoy it, for me, despite all the annoyances and some bugs, it is worth the full price!

is it just me, or is the farming for enough medals to open the last pages of the warbonds as well as enough superuranium or whatever the purple/pink squares were, a real fucking slow pain in the ass...

Also, FFS, can we make at least some of the big beasties that take multiple orbitals to kill like the biotitan actually drop some stuff, a tate sample, a few supercredits, maybe 2-3 medals...

Also, SAF artillery, why the hell does it stop working when the SuperDestroyer leaves orbit again?

It is on the frigging planet's surface FFS.

So, new patch came out, buffing a bunch of weapons, doing minor nerfs to a smaller number, and severely nerfing the quaser cannon. As it deserved, the cannon had its niche but is massively overused, in part because it has unlimited ammo and in part because too many people use the shield backpack as a crutch and can't hack it without it. Good riddance to both, I'm really sick of being swarmed by big bugs because our AT guy/guys refuse to pick a weapon capable of rapidly taking out a titan, or having my shots blocked by someone's huge bubble shield.

The last page of the mobilize bond is a bit slow, but between personal orders, major orders, and a few dives on 8, you should be able to wrap even the big items in a few days or so.

Super samples accumulate slowly, but in my experience they're usually not the bottleneck, common and rare samples are the ones that stall progress.

So, almost done unlocking everything in the primary war bond and I must say, the PLAS-1 Scorcher and the Champion of the people Armor are both kinda crap.

Thus far the weapon I've enjoyed the most is the SG-225IE Breaker Incendiary I primarily kill zhe buugz.

Only backpack I pick up is the Guard Dog rover.
For titans I generally make sure to take the orbital railcanon strategem and if that isn't enough I hit it with the orbital laser, which then serves to clean up the rest of the swarm.

It can be a real pain in the ass if a bunch of those as well as the "butt bugs" swarm in on you, especially if it is a defense mission.

My big problem is that I can't harass and extort politely persuade enough friends to play HD2, so usually I am stuck with rando squads.

Also, wtf, how can you get less than 10 rare samples from anything that is 7+?!?!

And the prices and unlock requirements for pages are frigging annoying.

Thus far I have managed to finish the Steeled Veterans warbond, but I bought the B-27 Fortified Commando Armor and some other stuff from the superstore, so it might take a while before I unlock more warbonds.

So I’m guessing a lot of you have seen that new service update regarding PSN accounts now being compulsory to play Helldivers 2?

Madness. It’s utter madness. For the sake of artificially inflating the PSN account numbers to generate stock value (funny money over real revenue every time for these idiots), so much good will has been utterly destroyed. Whoever calls the shots at Sony has a lower IQ than me, and I’m autistic.
