Horror Games & Gaming

I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Japan making a historical educational game with very, very, very strong horror elements.

Meet the Cosmology of Kyoto...

I would say learning about Japanese history has never been so horrifyingly fun but I have read popular history books about the Second Sino-Japanese War and the Battle of Manila. 💀

Many women and children were harmed during the production of this game.

Okay not really... but you get the lame joke.

The old "The Thing" game, despite being a fairly low budget affair, was awesome.

I don't think i've ever been filled with more dread than Silent Hill 4: The Room.
I should have the CD of the first (back when it was actually a thing) and the gog.com version of the second. Both great games in my opinion, though I started my Silent Hill's experience with Homecoming, Origins and Shattered Memories so I might not be the best judge.

Silent Hill 4 got me with how the "safe area" worked. The apartment was always ok, you could always get back and be fine... until... it also was no longer safe.

There was just a sense of... dread is the correct word. Later in the game, you're never safe.

A truly horrifying game was "Haunted House" on the Atari VCS.

You, as square eyes, trapped, the ghost approaching in Skill Level 9, the scepter useless, then, then...

Mojo Plays list IS very debatable ... two remakes in it certainly don't help it BUT they did made aware of some POTENTIAL gems :

only other visual novel I would "play" is Ragin Loop

Then there is this : Metti fine al regno dei misteri! though it looks more spooky a la "Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas" style more than "horror".

But why is the main character apparently Mia Khalifa?

Oh really? I might have to give the video a watch then.

*Watches*

Lolz.

Dr. Joshis accent is British-Indian though so far more appealing. She has also mastered Russian Call of Duty style teleportation. Far superior to Mia Khalifa.

Anyone ever play SOMA? One of the best horror games I've played personally, with aspects of world destruction, bio-mechanical infection, and an underwater society clinging to humanity.

I originally discovered it from an old Nexpo video, which is great in-itself and gives more insight into their intricate promotional material aswell.

I liked those horror Flash-SWF "escape" games. There was a satisfaction about getting through them, like in "Ghostscape 2."
