Here we have a recent Ipsos poll.
Scroll down to page 2, where upon you will see the statistical breakdown of how the interviews were done and the what percentage of various groups were interviewed.
Now, look at this and compare it to the current breakdown of voters by political party.
We find out they over sampled democrats by 164 voters, which amounts to 17.5%, they over sampled Republicans by 109 voters, which amounts to 11.6%, and they under sampled Independents by 286, which amounts to 30.5%.
What this means, is that the poll itself is completely and utterly worthless for measuring who is ahead in the elections.
