United States Air Force, according to this press release, successfully tested a Hypersonic Missile off the California Coast.
This is their fourth test of the weapon and first successful one in the wake of widely reported Russian and Chinese advances in the same area. In the first and third test the missile failed to detach from the aircraft and in the second test the missiles booster failed to start. In this case though the Air Force stated the test went flawlessly.
There's another Hypersonic System also in development with the Air Force called HAWC (for Hypersonic Air-breathing Weapon Concept) which has had more success.
