Taiwan and Japan do have a defense pact, and the US is obligated to defend Japan if they are attacked.

Xi knows this, and knows the Japanese fleet does not have the same challenges facing US warship building yards.

But its not and it wouldn't just be america on this but Japan the 2nd largest navy in the world, and all of the regional allies who don't want to be dominated by china, plus Tawians been prepping for this shit for decades.
