hello, I saw MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries discounted on GoG today, and since there are a lot of MW/BT fans on here I was wondering if the game was any good?
I like drive big bot make other big bot go boom!Agreed, its ok, advancing to good if you like "play in sandbox campaign mode with lots of mods" kind of games.
Another great target for "ignore main campaign, play highly modded sandbox campaign instead" strategy.I like drive big bot make other big bot go boom!
Frankly, I still haven't gone into the MW lore all that much.
II couldn't get into the turn based tactics of the other MW game with the affirmative action princess.
Only if it disables the turnbased stuff, I hate TTT games, turnbased is only good for massive 4x games IMHO.Another great target for "ignore main campaign, play highly modded sandbox campaign instead" strategy.
Welp, obviously doesn't make it a real time game.Only if it disables the turnbased stuff, I hate TTT games, turnbased is only good for massive 4x games IMHO.
Ahem, sarcasm.Welp, obviously doesn't make it a real time game.
For that, there are old MechCommander and Metal Fatigue, as a bonus those will work even on a potato computer.
You never got the trashcan did you. Also, apparently they can't make a mecha with the upper body of the torso being able to do a 360, too.Bleh.
I did the tutorial and one other mission where I got a junk stealth/jumppack mech that tanks and walking into walls damages. You never got the trashcan did you.
But yeah it took a lot of getting used to the movement, that and getting used to which of your arms is the sacrificial armour to use when circle strafing.
That aside I've played plenty with Merctech, how does the YAML package play?
YAML?
What does a weird, less readable version of JSON have to do with walking tanks?
yup. at least it isn't the locust or commando is all I can say there. pretty sure you can get the centurion up for the 2nd or 3rd mission if you are willing to eat the time waiting.
