Let's be clear: I was NOT a fan of Carter's policies especially on foreign policy, but always respected him as a great humanitarian.

Not particularly. Habitat for Humanity is one of those charities that spends more money on administration costs and photo ops than on the actual charity. To be fair, some of that is just the nature of the beast and I have no idea to what extent Carter is or is not involved in the organization's affairs, but I find his reputation for charity heavily overblown. I wish him a peaceful passing and hope the media circus spares him at least some of the indignity, but I cannot play along with his carefully cultivated post-presidency reputation. The man was a standard political apparatchik and having a decent personality does not make up for that.

Let's just say some folks will NEVER be sympathetic to Carter's family during his likely remaining days.
Big question is whether we'll see all 4 former US Presidents attending Carter's likely State Funeral when the time comes
