That looks like an interesting game that I'll need to check out.

The last one I played which was somewhat similar was 5th Fleet. It's a boardgame (with a PC version) from the 80s and the ultimate scenario has the US squaring off against the USSR and India. If you use nuclear weapons, you lose.

The funny thing is, I started my entry into naval sims with Battleship of all things. The 1996 version, oddly enough.

(sure it's a review of the game, but it's one of the few good videos that isn't half an hour long)

This is my introduction to the naval sim genre. The other is Naval War: Artic Circle... which has its own problems.
