More than Meets the Eye! A Transformers Thread

A trailer for Rise of the Beasts has popped up.

Looks so far like typical modern Transformers stuff, probably going to be as wretched as the last few were. Though, as one of us who watched Beast Wars (and yes, even Beast Machines), I have to admit to loving seeing Optimus Prime and Optimus Primal onscreen at the same time. The Arcee design seemed nice, a lot less "random pile of mobile trash" than previous versions have been.

As far as modern Transformers movies go Bumblebee was pretty decent, largely because they gave Michael Bay the boot, took a chill pill and had it be about a teenager finding a car that turned out to be lovable Bumblebee.

Now granted that is what happened in the original Bayformers but this time around everything was far less obnoxious.

The tranformers looking like piles of trash animated by a poltergeist was the whole look of Bayformers; at least Optimus Primal looks something like a Transformer.

Apparently Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth are migrating to the Transformers film franchise for their million dollar paychecks now.

There will be an animated prequel called Rise of Beasts: Transformers One co-produced by Paramount and Nickolodeon which will explore the origins of why Megatron and Optimus Prime and their factions antipathy and how they were allies once. Optimus Prime's more youthful iteration will be voiced by Chris Hemsworth while ScarJo will voice the Autobot Warrior Alita Elita.

Fandomwire said:
Talented actors Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, Laurence Fishburne, and Brian Tyree Henry round out as Megatron, Bumblebee, Sentinel Prime, and Alpha Trion, respectively.

Transformers One is expected to release in September of 2024.
