I'm confused on what grounds they want is dissolved on? Corruption? Has the NRA been nailed for that?

Okay...so I'm going to donate to the NRA.

I don't like some of the financially shady stuff they do, which is why I never renewed my membership after that news came out a few years back...but thanks to AG James, who wants to fully dismantle the organization...I am now supporting it again.

Eh, removal of the NRA could pave the way for GOA to take the number one spot, and they have a better track record as far as I’m aware. They have a no compromise at all stance.

I wish they had more cool membership benefits besides a neat hat.

That kind of reminds me of what just happened in the Sargon v Akilah court case, wonder if the same thing applies here.

If these aligations are true, it sounds like jail time might be in order, but I don't see how she expects to go from that to destroying the entire organization. On a quick Google, I can't recall any other case of an organization being dissolved because of misconduct by the leadership, at least not like this. Nonprofits have been dissolved because they were wholly fraudulent and served only to defraud their donors, but being dissolved because the leadership skimmed some money out of of the overall pool that was being used legitimately? I've never heard of such a thing happening, this sounds blatantly political.

Hmm, according to national review, the AG in question is one of those "the NRA is a terrorist organization because reasons" idiots. I somehow doubt her motives are as pure as she claims.

This is reminding me of when the City of San Francisco declared the NRA a legitimate terrorist organization. No, I’m not kidding on this either.

Thing is this is basically an auto win for her. As even when it's thrown out she can use "fighting the good fight" to Garner money and support.
This is my thought process as well. At best she can chase the NRA out fo New York and maybe fleece them for some fine money, but there are very few judges with the stones to take what is obviously a politically motivated attack and grant it legitimacy. It opens up Democratic groups to the same kind of attack if they do.

It'll probably get tossed out but will be a nice feather in James' Progressive credentials.

All that being said, I'm in the party that tends to be lukewarm towards the NRA these days. The accusations of fraud and graft ring just a little too true to my ears and we've seen a lot of NRA groups that are happy to take money and rabble rouse, but get awfully hesitant when it comes to actually going on the attack. After all, the biggest danger to an advocacy group is success.

As a final bitter note, I eagerly await the day when someone investigates the Clinton Foundation.

for your final statement: "Breaking news! AG who started an investigation into the Clinton foundation found dead in their home. Police say it is suicide, and autopsy confirms self inflicted gunshots to the back of the head"
The investigation team will probably need a Marine Battalion assigned as their guards in order to stay alive
Make it one of the Army SF groups
