This is about the first two Planet of the Apes movies 1968 and Beneath the Planet of the Apes 1970.
Did a nuclear war actually destroy the world? Because the visual evidence shows it may have been something different.
Given these are images from the movie. It looks less like a nuclear war happened and more some natural disaster hit that tore things apart. I mean Liberty island is not part of New York proper and those cliffs look to be ancient. The Library is buried underground and not underwater, like a good chunk of New York City should be.
So what happened? Seismic upheaval? Something else? Because the terrain does not resemble the New York State area as far as I know.
