PM 'Quota'?

So far I haven't been able to add anyone to a PM because apparently everyone has reached their quota, I'm guessing it's just a case of bad luck from a small sample size but what is the size of this quota in question?
It makes private messages a little challenging/impossible.

PM quotas ? 🤔

Yeah, apparently, they impose a limit on how many PMs you can have.

For me, it's 50, though for some reason, it doesn't count PMs you decide to leave. So, if you want to bypass the official quota, odds are you should leave convos you don't have much investment in. Fortunately, that doesn't delete the convo, so you can still receive messages and reply, if the other person(s) posts there.

We do place a limit on the number of people in a single PM.

That said, are we talking about a single PM or how many PMs total you have?

Maximum number of people in a PM: 5
Maximum number of posts allowed in a PM: Unlimited
Maximum number of active conservations that you can have: 50 (maybe? I think that's what the option means).

The option labeled Conversation Count Quota is set to 50. What that option actually does? *shrug*

How many PM's total someone has (I have 1 in total).
I can't add most people seemingly because they're at 50.

Well, so long as the thread's still open, may I ask precisely why we have PM quotas in the first place?
