While Leman Russ is boisterous, he is no fool. If he found himself in a pre-dark age city as large as NYC, he would first try to get his bearings and familiarize himself with his new surroundings. Once Heracles spawns less than 2 meter away from him, he will probably quickly realize that a head-on confrontation is pointless against said hero, and retreat to observe and find a possible weakness.

In the end, Russ will win, as Berserker-Heracles is little more than a regenerating beast, blind with fury and no sense of self-preservation that could prevent him from running head-first into an obvious trap. Yes, Russ will rely on cunning and trickery rather than brute force.
