Short and random alternate history questions that don't deserve their own separate thread

I figured that I should create a generic thread here for short and random alternate history questions that don't deserve their own separate thread. Anyway, please allow me to start by asking the first such question here:

Does the US still eventually purchase the Danish West Indies (later renamed the US Virgin Islands) if World War I never actually occurs? If so, when?

Another question: If Russian Tsar Alexander II is assassinated in 1866 rather than in 1881, does his son, Russian Tsar Alexander III, still sell Alaska to the US? My hunch is Yes because Alexander III was not afraid of making deals with other democratic countries in regards to foreign policy (ex.: his French alliance). It's only in regards to his domestic policy that he was hostile towards democracy.
