Solar Warden.
Backstory: Back in February of 2001 to march of 2002 a guy by the name of Garry McKinnon breached the security defenses of the NSA, Multiple Military networks and NASA. In these networks he came upon a program called 'Solar Warden'. In the program it detailed that apparently the United States Government, working along side some of it its allies had somehow gotten ahold of alien technology and managed to reverse engineer it. They built a small fleet of ships that apparently came online during the Reagan administration in the early 1980s. There were apparently spreadsheets concerning fleet to fleet transfers and even non terrestrial officers and such. None of this has ever been verified and today remains a huge conspiracy theory that the US Military is operating a fleet of reverse engineered spacecraft in the solar system and possibly beyond.
And while its validity is very suspect...it has inspired some interesting stories. Chief among them, this little gem.
Currently in paperback, or Kindle (I strongly recommend Kindle to save money) is a book I found that actually takes the concept and runs with it. The Book is pretty good, so far, and looks to be getting better. And so here I am recommending it. Has anyone read it yet? What were your thoughts?
