The hell is this?

The description for this video is correct... I have no idea what this is or whats going on. Some people say it's like Dwarf Fortress which I know some of you gaming grognards are familiar with... So yeah... Main question is a big ol Whut?

Any of you given this... thing a try?

A much better explanation of Space Station 13. Its an old RP game run on ancient servers that still has a player base due to no game really coming close to the sheer number of different things possible within gameplay. Despite MS Paint graphics, its incredibly immersive. But I would recommend not playing it. New players are not liked and those who bring on new players en masse have bitcoin assassins hired to kill them.

Actual assassins like Boris with no neck who you meet in an idling Merc outside of the barber shop with Cyrillic lettering in a run-down strip mall, or just people being paid to make your gaming experience miserable so you leave the server?

Neither, more like people will get angry because of low margins of how many additional players can be supported. And to explain better, I believe that in terms of interactions this game has the absolute highest number of interactions you can do and effects out of any game that exists. For example, if your character is attacking someone with something like a screwdriver, you can target every part of the body of another player from eyes to head to hands and all will have different effects. With a weapon like that nothing will really happen unless you hit the eyes, which can kill, give brain damage or lead them to be blind which will have its own effects. You can do things like eat copious amounts of potassium pills and then drink a gallon of water and become a ticking time bomb which can then blow up and damage the station and lead to holes in the structure. You can mop the floor or drop space lube and then characters will slip and fall. You can surgically remove hands and feet and then surgically attach pizza slices in their place. If you are a security member, you can check everything from shell casings to blood to see who's it is to get evidence for a murder or assault. You can get drunk or shocked which changes the typed words you put out to be slurred or with a stutter, you can lace the cantinas food with lsd you can manufacture in game as a chemist and then watch as half the station runs around on a bad acid trip which lets you see demons and aliens and crazy things like that. These are just a few of the interactions possible in the game, and they are incredibly hard to learn, which also means that a new player is going to wander around, waste role slots and be unable to do their job, not know the etiquette and generally be a nuisance to the established base who are all thirty to forty and been playing for years.
