Starfield, Bethesda's Space RPG Spectacular

The value is also nonsensical.

So your average store ingame (selling items upwards of 50 thousand or more) has 5000 moneys.

That's...50 lunches worth of currency. Or in USD approximately 500 dollars if we assume the price of 10 dollars for a sandwich.

You're telling me that a sci-fi gun-store selling explosives and laser weapons has 500 USD in stock, in the CAPITAL CITY of a spacefaring nation?

Gets worse for the big-boy stores with 11k in stock. So now a galaxy-spanning mega-corp similar to Amazon holds a whopping 1100 dollars on hand to give to adventurers, explorers and mercs.

While Starfield itself seems to have some issues I do see the potential for some god tier total conversion mods.
Honestly, with many of the powers already in the game you can get, all we need is a lightsaber mod to be able to play a Jedi... and I don't just mean the "starborn" powers... there's a questline that functionally gives you Jedi mind tricks as a power.

Add in some clothing and other weapons mods, and some starship part mods, you could EASILY do a Star Wars conversion.

Does the game have exosuits/power armor?

Models for it... yes. Not sure if they have them mechanically.

Given it's a Bethesda game and they had Power Armor in Fallout 4 though, I imagine the engine could handle it. I honestly expect them to have a Power Armor / Mecha system as one of their DLCs. It would fit both the lore of the game and be something folks would likely want.

FO4 power armor was basically reskinned werewolves (it turns you into the 'power armor' race/species).

So you can easily still port that over from FO4.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I am not too sure if Bethesda has that planned.

One thing people might need to understand is that the game was colossally outsourced. Like seriously to a creepy degree.

There's only so much quality control you can get once every single third worlder has input a piece of code into the game. Not to mention all the typos found in the game.

Good example? The rotary grenade launcher says "State of the at Weapon Frame" instead of "State of the art".

I don't know how this passed QA by Microsoft.

No that's just linguistic drift over the centuries. It takes place far in the future after all.

At least until it's patched out like it never existed.

God fucking damnit I'm just trying to find a good weapon for a change. Level 30-something and I'm fighting level 50 areas just in the vain hope I find a legendary.

Difficulty is maxxed out on 'very hard' but I can still easily take out anything on foot.

At this rate I'd rather exclusively fight 'legendary' enemies than the run of the mill mooks, because AT LEAST THEY DON'T DROP TRASH.

Bethesda needs to learn from Borderlands of all things and fucking realize that 'bigguh enemies' should drop bigguh loot.

WHY THE FUCK DID THAT BANDIT ALMOST 1 HIT KO ME, ONLY TO DROP A 9 DAMAGE WEAPON WHEN I HAVE OVER 1000 HP!?

The Starfield NPC Battles are hitting the Internet.

This is the first gameplay I've seen of this game and despite having little idea who these factions are, solid content so far! :p

Zero Punctuation did an episode on the game. Can't agree with all of it, but can agree with some of it.

One thing which bothers me about the game is claims the combat is 'smooth' or otherwise great. I feel like these people haven't played an FPS before or something.

Compare it to Wolfenstein II or heck, even Halo CE, and it just doesn't feel right. I don't believe an FPS can be 'good' when 90% of the enemies are hiding behind waist-high walls and you have to either suicidally charge them, or plink at them from range. Enemies need to be more aggressive and actually follow you through rooms. Enemies a mere room away will chill out while you fire .50 rifles and GRENADES.

Indeed. Enemies in this game mostly take cover and shelter in place rather than actually pursuing the player through environments. They aren't nearly as aggressive as they could be.

Believe it or not, this is something that is already being addressed with mods.

Can you make something like these in Starfield?

Max ship dimensions is 80m in any direction. So you can make a 80m cube if you want. But no larger.
And ships of those exact designs/propotions? Maaaaaaaybe? But it's going to be a challenge.

I wasn't talking the size exactly but just those style of ships as seen in LOTGH

The structural elements of ships in Starfield is...Limited. You could get something to very vaguely look like that picture. But looking close to that design? Not really, sorry.

So more bugs occuring, for some weird reason your follower just...Disappears. He's still following me because I hear him talking behind my back. But then as I turn around. Nothing.

That bug was present in FO4 early on, Bethesda really needs to either ditch that shit tier engine or give it a true rebuild.
