Stop watching a conflict for a few years and then you just start seeing reports of Rebel forces overrunning Russian positions, breaking through Syrian defense lines and somehow ending up only five miles away from Aleppo.

Before anyone gets too excited you should remember that the rebels are all Islamists. Assad may be a bastard but at least he's secular. If the rebels win then the Syrian Christians, Druze, and Alawites are as good as dead.

As distasteful as it is, I'm rooting for Assad on this one. While his ties to Iran are problematic, that's an issue that can be handled. He's mostly too busy keeping his people down to bother Israel or the West. As opposed to a Sunni Sharia State ruling all of Syria which would be a total nightmare.

Might see the changing of control of the city for the first time in almost five years.

To temper expectations Turkey has stated the current offensive was likely of limited nature, meant to stabilize the front according to the 2019 Lines that existed prior to "De-escalation." Turkey alleges this was not honored, especially due to ongoing Syrian and Russian strikes on Turkish backed Rebel territory.

Assad's forces are fleeing Aleppo on Black Friday.

The rebels have entered the university area of Aleppo, both on CNN and CBC they have demonstrated that are theocratic nonces, what is clear is that hopefully they won't able to hold their territory gained for long. Some of the videos "rebels" of the "Syrian" "National" "Army" have accents that don't sound locals of the region but more like Turkish or Turkic.
Hopefully the get smoked out as soon as they entered and it seems the case so far. The less Turco-philes militants and politicos there are in the world the better, and we have plenty in the EU and there are family and friends of my Armenian friend in Aleppo and the political cunts in Ankara are fucking animals when it comes to minorities.

Aleppo is falling to the anti-regime Rebels. Includes footage of Syrian Rebels at one of the "Gates" to the City.

Also HTS Rebels have opened up the gates to Aleppo's Tariq Bin Ziad prison, as revolutionaries tend to do.

As Aleppo and surrounding areas continue to fall to Anti-Assad sources, it appears that the SDF or Syrian Democratic Forces/Kurds have occupied several key points in Aleppo that have been abandoned by the regime including Aleppo's International Airport. There are some reporting that the HTS (the Turkish backed Militia behind this offensive) and the SDF have made some arrangements which allow the passage of forces through each others controlled roadways etc. Obviously some doubts such an arrangement will last long.

Also further confirmation that an IRGC Advisor to the Syrian Regime, Brigadier General Kiomars Pour Hashemi, was killed during the HTS Rebel offensive.

Very Brief History Thread on Twitter about the HTS, Giving it a somewhat positive spin...

There's contesting reports of whether Assad is still in Moscow (having arrived there November 28th) or has returned to Syria, specifically Damascus, in the wake of these offensives.

Meanwhile there are also reports of Rebel advances further West, towards the city of Hama and aimed southward towards Homs.

There are also reports of protests and fighting taking place in Damascus, as well as in Daraa which is on the Jordanian border, and Iraq closing their border with Syria.

Along with Russian airstrikes taking place in Rebel held Idlib, the Russian Air Force is already reportedly conducting strikes around Aleppo which has only recently started falling to Rebel forces.

There were also reports of aircraft interceptions taking place over Aleppo by Rebel forces equipped with MANPADs.

Rebel Forces are moving South and East from Aleppo though apparently the Syrians were able to make a momentarily success counterattack North of Hama backed by heavy weapons.

Rebels have also overrun the Aleppo Thermal Plant and the famous Kuweires Airbase which was made famous for the brave resistance of it's Cadets early in the War during a long siege by Rebel Forces. It later became a base for the Russian Air Force. Now in Rebel hands.

Iran has pledged more support for Syria and is planning on sending Shia militia from Afghanistan to help bolster the SAA.

Also SDF cooperation with the SNA and/or HTS Militias was apparently ephemeral.

Syrian Rebels.have also seized Al Safira, a large military depot for the Syrian Army. Also more worryingly, a possible location for the Assad regimes chemical weapons program.

A Pantsir and S-200 Air Defense System along with SPAAG's, BMP's and Grad MLRS systems etc have all been reportedly captured in the above operations by Rebel forces.

The SDF is reportedly capitalizing on this in the Deir Ezzor region to the West, capturing SAA positions there. Meanwhile US forces have engaged Iranian Militias with artillery fire.

More randomly, the Islamist HTS militia apparently has a Russian speaking reporter embedded with them to help provide fair and Balanced coverage for Russian speaking audiences.

The Turkish backed SNA has advanced into Northern Aleppo and other areas previously held by the SAA and SDF or jointly protected by the two including the town of Tell Rifaat, which was reportedly guarded by the Syrian Army Special Forces.

The SDF has stated that they have not withdrawn from Aleppo and apparently are not planning onto either. There are reports they are moving to protect the Christian, Kurdish and other minorities in Aleppo and other areas from possible hostility of the advancing HTS forces.

The HTS Militia has even reportedly captured a BM-30 Smerch MLRS.

Also captured from the Syrian Army... Also impressive... though a different sort of impressive...

Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi visited Damascus and reportedly had talks with President Assad while vowing Iranian support for the Assad regime. Look at how happy and unbothered they are!

Fairly short but comprehensive thread from Lebanese Reporter Jenan Moussa on the recent offensives by the Al-Qaeda/Al-Nusra Offshoot known as HTS and the Turkish backed SNA, with the former largely engaging the SAA and the latter reportedly pressuring the nearby SDF forces. She then later goes into detail on the possible outcomes for Syria, Turkey, Iran, Israel, the United States, Lebanon and Iraq if the Assad regime falls.

Reports that Assad has asked Israel for help with the "Jihadists" but alas, the price of "Expel Iran" might be too high to consider.

Multiple targets in the longtime Rebel held city of Idlib reportedly struck by the Russian Air Force, including apparently four different hospitals.

Among the reported "hundreds" of military vehicles captured in the past few days by Syrian Rebels include at least one T-90A Main Battle Tank.

Along with the Pantsir, and various S-75, S-125 and S-200 systems, the Rebels have also apparently captured a Buk with at least one missile.

Reports that Assadist or Russian Air Force launched airstrikes in the Christian neighborhood of Aleppo known as Suleimaniyah.

Twitter Thread on Syrian Rebel use of drones in the recent offensive.

The Turcophiles apparently emptied the prisons :

They also apparently are literally dismantling everything that is nailed down to be sold/given to Turkey, one commenter said they have already done this :

The Turcophiles first target seem to be non-Sunni muslims so far :

If memory serves right, the same group had "individuals" that animalistically murdered a kid while they recorded it. Trump cut the funding to said group not long after :

The megalomaniac and parasitic MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli claims Aleppo to be Turkish and Muslim :

The idea that I see floated around is that Erdogan all this bullcrap for Assad to meet up with him and be part of the deal when the war becomes "officially" "over".

Assad reportedly sought help from Israel in confronting rebel groups – Israel demanded Iran first be expelled

This is alleged by an Israeli media, so take it with a grain of salt.
