China just announced military expertises in the South China Sea will they try something this time?

Probably not directly, but as part of an increasing campaign of tensions and indirect strikes, yes. Basically make Taiwan unlivable unless it agrees to unification.
China might try directly for Taiwan annexation in 2050 or later. Maybe even in 2040 or later. But right now might still be too risky given large US military strength. And the US would probably be more committed to Taiwan due to it producing a lot of the world's semiconductors. Should probably move that industry over to the US right now, along with the relevant people. Then Chinese annexation of Taiwan would be less painful. Heck, you could even move all anti-Chinese Taiwanese to the West.

Any serious attempt to invade Taiwan won't be a surprise, as it would require large and obvious build up before hand for the kind of amphibious invasion necessary.
Why should they? they are not KGBstan,they rely on economy,not army.They could wait 10 or 20 years to do so .Especially that they belive,that USA would fall when $ fall - about 2040.
