Original Fiction The Letters of Lothian

The 21st of Cillian in the year 2999 of the 4th cycle.

To Emperor Thadias Thade III. May the sun never set on the Leonese Empire,

I fear I have brought great shame upon you. My company was caught in an ambush against the barbarians of Hingard I fear I may be the last survivor. I've heard the horror stories of what these barbarians do, the sacrifices they make to their wicked gods, the sins they commit. If they are half as fierce against prisoners as they are against soldiers, then I am certain that my end will be a bloody fate.

Forgive me for my weakness oh emperor. Let my failings dampen your glory. Though I die childless. If my body once again finds it's way to Leonese soil I beg that you give the remains to my mother and father, so that they can take solace that I'm not buried in a foreign land.

If by some miracle of Kryta that I do survive the night I will write a letter for everyday that I'm alive. If I cannot be of service to you in battle or war, then I shall be of service giving you information for the glory of our empire.

May the stars shine for you, your children and your children's children. If I provide a service which is pleasing to you, think better of me. May the lion give your servants courage.

Your loyal servant,

-Captain Morgan Lothian of the 121st Legion.
