Alexios V Megalos Komnenos (b.1477 d.----).......................................................................................................................................................(r.1507--)
Ioannes IV and Alexandros I were both sons of Alexios IV; Ioannes killed their father in 1429, forcing Alexandros into exile. He returned in 1450 and overthrew his brother. Upon his death, his second son, Sabbas, became aftokrator, but fell into civil war with his elder brother, Alexios. The two were killed in the struggle and Sabbas was succeeded by Alexandros II, his young nephew. Alexandros became sole ruler in 1474 after a seven-year regency by his mother, Keteon of Georgia, and the general Alexios Mgeli. Alexandros had a nervous breakdown in 1506 and abdicated in favor of his nephew, Nikephoros. Nikephoros was then murdered by Alexandros' son, Alexios V, bringing us to the present moment.
