Chip production is incredibly delicate process, unfirable illiterate imbeciles whose only qualification is ticking the DEI boxes, can completely wreck the production line, repair costs and lost production can quickly make a facility a lost cause. It was one of the reasons that Soviet electronics industry was lagging behind the West - indifferent workforce doing shit job. USA is going the same way with forced diversity and in Europe we are downwind from USA, so soon.

Because apparently the places not in potential warzones have their heads so far up their asses that they care about random bullshit over making them work.
What's even worse is I don't think a Republican sweep of the Presidency and Legislature can fix this. The US is to balanced on a knife's edge, and the chip manufacturers watched what happened to the various pipelines that Republicans enabled immediately cancelled, so know that even if Republicans roll back DEI requirements as soon as a Dem President comes in, they will be back with a vengeance. Until the Dems systemically reject DEI and its systems, these companies won't take the risk.
It's a grand problem with a lot of government and business failures. Some of them end up destroying trust, and with this sort of ideas it's possible to destroy lot of trust in days, while rebuilding it, even in most optimal possible ways, can take years or decades.
There are exactly zero nice ways to fix this.
The lefts leadership is either geratric or fully up its own ass and thats getting worse not better. Mass firings, black lists and in some cases prison for the worst offenders is the nicest solution possible.

At this rate, the only proper way to deal with it would be a country-wide equivalent to the Night of the Long Knives, executed within every corporation, state and local government and federal agency.

The likelihood of those getting invaded by Russia is very low.
And again, you are stretching Turkish delight and trying to change the topic.
Which is that the USA, despite political pressure and huge subsidies, is still a worse destination for those chip makers than all those countries plus Poland.
Obviously the reference to Taiwan and Japan wasn't regarding Russia, but sure, show off how you are obsessed about this stuff more than you accuse others of.
