USA Military News

Seriously, we have threads for Russia, China, India and NATO, but not the biggest of them all - USA? It deserves the thread of it's own, so here it is.

And I'm starting it with something that is sign of the times.

New West Point mission statement omits "Duty, Honor, Country"

The United States Military Academy at West Point has a slightly revised mission statement which, since our military continues to follow woke trends, omits General Douglas MacArthur's, "Duty, Honor, and Country," replacing it with a simple, "Army values."

Here's the old mission statement:

To build, educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to duty, honor, and country, and ready for a lifetime of service to the Army and Nation.
And here is what it looks like now, without those three important words:

To build, educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets to be commissioned leaders of character committed to Army values and ready for a lifetime of service to the Army and Nation.

I think we used the one in essays as the American Militaty thread or something.

And...they do know that the Army values are as follows right?
LDRSHIP.
Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless-Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage.
They are still saying it....

Yeah and it's still the Motto of West Point.

There's been some weird stories coming out of West Point regarding wokeshit but this in particular seems like it's blown out of proportion.

Would agree "Army Values" is bland as fuck however.

As the son and grandson of military veterans including being a military veteran myself, West Point will reverse this woke bullshit if and when Trump wins the Presidency in eight months.

Subscribed and Following!

When they photograph you for official release on the same day your buddies play a prank on you.

How did they miss this? sigh It's just as bad as that food advert in the UK that was a professional photoshoot, fixed and edited in Photoshop by an agency and professionals multiple times/passes to make it pop and ready for print... and they all missed the massive fucking fly resting on the fresh fruit, haha.

I mean, even a quick Photoshop job would've fixed this guy's gloves at the eleventh hour, yet they all fucking missed it, haha.

But it wouldn't show the real military
You think the average, non-military person cares? It's all about optics/perception to appeal to these people to get them to join the military.

The pristine image is needed to attract fresh meat, even if the reality is, well, gloves, lol.

Edit: Although, ironically this might have the opposite effect and cause some people to join because of it (showing what the military is really like than being 'pristine', haha).

See, the difference here is that the general population (well, the native population, not the fucking migrants) knows what Squaddies are like. :ROFLMAO: We don't need the pristine PR thing to attract new recruits, since Squaddies being Squaddies is what attracts young blokes to the Forces, lol.

Amphib USS Boxer Sidelined by "General Complacency" and Breakdowns

The big-deck amphib USS Boxer has been sidelined by three back-to-back engineering casualties caused by "lack of procedural compliance, substandard supervisory oversight, and general complacency by the crew," according to the U.S. Navy.

USS Boxer is the flagship of the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group, or would be under normal circumstances. However, she has been in various phases of repair and preparation since 2022, and she missed her latest scheduled deployment in the Pacific - all because of human factors, according to a recent command investigation.

Despite multiple rounds of retraining and outside intervention after the previous casualties, they again departed from procedure: the team spun the main gearbox for two hours without lubrication,

''Bite the pillow, I'm going in dry'' really shouldn't be your guideline for maintenance of mayor ship systems.

Wasn't Colonel O'Neill in Stargate considered TAME by military standards in what he got up too?
