I'm playing Dark and Darker at the moment. It's a dungeon delving extraction shooter.

And yes it is as fun as that sounds. Basically you are not the hero. You are some no name going into the dungeon to grab treasure before the bug infestation 'zone' closes in on you. It's a full PVP game. So you go down, and other players are there. Sometimes you can make nice. Sometimes they will fight. It definitely isn't for everyone I'll warn you now. It is TOUGH. You die quickly even to the weakest mobs, and both PVE and PVP takes a lot of practice.

Equipment makes a massive difference in how powerful you are, so a top equipped player will absolutely roll over you 90% of the time, but not ALL the time, and it doesn't take that much gear to narrow the gap enough to fight back.

You can play solo, or in duo, or trio. There is a different map for each group setup. But you can also go into the duo or trio map by yourself. This is hard, but can give you good loot. (Especially if you are careful and scav a PVP battle.

There are a bunch of classes. Rogue. Wizard. Fighter. Barbarian. Bard. Warlock. Cleric. Ranger. They each have unique skills, and weapons and armor they can use.

It's not currently on steam, due to some korean lawsuit shenanigans. But if you like games like Tarkov, but like the idea of not instantly being shot by some grub with a pistol and dying. Then Dark and Darker might be for you.

Check out some youtube videos, and see if it might be up your alley, but I do recommend it with some warnings that it's not for everyone.

Starfield - boring, bugged, and nonoptimized as hell. Stopped playing
WoT - cheaters and bots all around, not fun anymore. Stopped playing.
WoWs - still playable
Stellaris - still playable
Baldur's Gate 3 - so far playable and fun. Right now, the game I play most.

Been playing a lot of Darktide since the big rework patch dropped. Definitely in a way better state compared to release.
Yeah, the bless/let wrath gather ability of the Zealot is a lot of fun in fights, even on Heresy.

Especially when you couple it with a bolter and some incendiary grenades.

Try CP2077, lots of improvements with PL dropping.

And if you haven't played it you will get a more complete experience with the expansion.

Head over heels in love :)
Still playing Armoured Warfare, nothing like pissing off Putin supporters when you take out your tank/afv/spg etc with a Ukrainian flag and decal.

Seriously, theres a new op mission, and thankfully they've got someone to do the voice acting that sounds human, in fact the voice acting in the new one sounds like the guys (and gal) doing it had a good laugh. Rather than the Wages of Sin one where the 'badass female' sounded constipated and the main guy just...emotionless.

Battle Path is nearly over and I'm sitting on a stack of battle coins and there's been no vehicles in the shop that I haven't either got or don't want. I'm not spending half of them on yet another mediocre T-72 variant.

CP2077 is my current jam.

I'd like to fire up Starfield again. I didn't hate it. I didn't love it. Think I might sit on it for awhile and come back to it later, load it up with some mods.

A new playthrough of BG3 is very much possible post-CP2077.

Inbetween i'm messing around with Galactic Civilizations 4.

One of the funniest encounters I had was on Akila City. Seriously Sarah is right, the place is 200 years old and this is the best they can do? Anyway I had finished the Vanguard quest line and I had a security guard in Akila city say to me, "You are in the Vanguard? Thank you for your service."

It would make sense if they commented on my work killing terrormorphs, but being UC Vanguard in the Freestar?

That threw me for a loop as well.

Mind you, I've had multiple encounters of UCSec fighting Crimson fleet &/or spacers in Narion and Volii systems. And of Freespace Rangers doing similar at outer system parts of Sol & Toliman systems. At this point, I'm going to put it down to BGS not stress testing what happens if a player does the Ranger & Vanguard questlines in the same playthrough (which is daft, given that one of their (lesser) selling points was that you could join every "major*" faction).

*But not ecliptic, house va-ruun, LIST, or spacers... for... ya'know... reasons.

I find the defacto bounty system on Spacers, & Ecliptic to be bonkers. Especially the later. Sure, we'll hire you to do our dirty work, and give you unrestricted access to all our former scientific, commercial, & military sites. But we'll also encourage random jackasses to slaughter your people for shiggles and pay them bounties when they do. But we're all good, right?

Hell you would have thought they would offer a dialog option when saving Freestar or UC if you are a Ranger or Vanguard. It would be nice if your reputation proceeds you or if you do good things you get thank you's.

BTW 5 Vanguard particle weapons are nasty when linked together.

I got the vibe that UC and Freestar are on generally good terms at this point, and specifically the Vanguard and Rangers are generally respected by everybody for being Generally Good People willing to risk their lives to help others.

Fighting pirates and the like is something that everyone can get behind.

Yeh, X-COM 2 kinda rushes you to finish the game, in X-COM 1 they just spam sectopods if you play too long.
Plus Genemods and Mech Troopers are bit more fun than Sparks and Faction Commando's because you can have a lot more than three.

SWF games. In this case in particular "Gemcraft: Chasing Shadows."

I downloaded it from Armor games a while back when I heard they were going to dump Flash, and long story short was able to "unlock" it for offline play, the Full version. It is pretty much like the Steam version, albeit with some differences as it was made into a Steam game.

What is interesting is that it works nicely even on the 2001 Sony VAIO, this before I noticed the EXE version works too. This proves that SWF versions of games will run on almost anything with a standalone SWF player, and the library of Steam/GOG-quality Flash games is large indeed. Losing Flash was a real blow to the Internet, WebGL and HTML5 have not impressed me, are themselves troublesome, and cross-browser compatibility are serious issues, not to mention updated browsers can cause such games to suddenly fail, "HTML5 Gauntlet and Firefox" being an example.

If you are into OpenXCOM already, make sure to check out X-Com Files and XPiratez conversion, once i did, i'm no longer interested in ever going back.

I just installed XCOM 2 again. I gotta go through the mods and stuff before I get it fired up.

I love making unique soldiers from the various mods/voice packs. My favorite one ever is CJ from GTA San Andreas. That's like, even my backstory for him. He was just a thug dude from LA who... ended up in the Resistance.

I haven't found a Rambo/Stallone one but... god damn it I want Rambo.

Catherine.

After a couple of years, the game is as funny as back when I first played it. Losing the puzzles less so, but even the bosses come off as more funny than scary. Especially the big babies and the corpse bride :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So, I semi-routinely do damnationon Darktide.
As a whole, the Zealot got a huge buff compared to the Veteran, who got nerfed badly.
I did Auger like once, and it is not that much harder.

However, this is all conditional on having an actually capable team around you that is not too unbalanced.

One psyker and at least one Zealot, and no scattering.

Sooo, actually installed the massive Hyades Rim mod for HBS Battletech, and boy does it completely change the game for the better. Higher difficulty, a lot more narrative elements, much more of an atmosphere of being stuck in the boonies and having to make do with little to nothing. Highly recommended if you're looking to give the game another go.
