In the scope of american politics liberal just means "a person on the left" while libertarian means "liberal" in the political science sense of the word. Prior to the 20th century the words liberal and libertarian were synonyms.

That and the Republican party doesn't deserve your loyalty. Vote for them if you need them, but don't get too attached. They have zero interest in stopping the Left if they can profit from it instead.

Nah. I'm super unhappy about it.

It's literally them trying to help the establishment regain control. If they want to quit, great, but just don't run for reelection and finish your term. Resigning before then is a specific and intentional political move to punish Republicans.

My guess is like 2 more resign after the special election cut off and then democrats control the house and make a law saying Trump can't be president.

I doubt they will. The old status quo serves them perfectly well. The Democrats will introduce insane policies, and the Republicans will win seats by promising to fight them....for around a decade or two, at which point the Supreme Court orders all states to follow them. And then they will just continue to win votes from people who will continue to be angry at it and don't want even more insane policies to be introduced.

I have been all over the political compass throughout the years. I've been a conservative as a kid, an anti-idpol dirtbag leftie through my teens and twenties, and am now firmly center-libertarian with the emphasis on liberty.

I cannot take most city-dwelling liberals seriously anymore. Every time they open their mouths, all I hear is, "I like living in a kleptocracy ruled by financial criminals. I don't care that my living standards are being diminished, or that my children will not enjoy the same prosperity that my parents did. I like licking boot. I basically enjoy the taste of boot and being a submissive bitch for the establishment."

I largely agree with you. Although I have some reservations about libertarianism, at least when it comes to the degree and particular areas. Such as things like drugs and the sexual revolution.

For the first one, see Colorado and I think that a lot of the issues we have on drugs getting into the USA would dry up remarkably quickly if certain three letter agencies were gotten rid of. As for the sexual revolution...well, anyone whose not blind can see how much a disaster its been.
