Would Hungary have gotten a better post-WWI peace settlement if it would have offered to separate from Austria in the middle of WWI?

Would Hungary have gotten a better post-WWI peace settlement if it would have offered the Entente the option of it separating from Austria in the middle of WWI? And would Hungary have actually been able to get away with such a maneuver in WWI or would this have simply resulted in Hungary getting quickly occupied, as in WWII?

Also, is there any way that Hungary can be an Entente/Allies member in WWI? For instance, if Franz Joseph dies in 1914 rather than in 1916 while Franz Ferdinand lives and then Franz Ferdinand attempts to impose a new settlement on the Hungarians while the Hungarians decide to call in for outside assistance and the Entente decides not only to support separatists in Austria-Hungary, but also to support the Hungarians themselves?

Anyway, what do you think about all of this?
