When it comes to characters, sidecharacters even, make sure NOT to forget about them or simply make them disappear near or at the ending even if they were very developed
Look at Tokyo Ghoul :RE’s ending, there were characters like Amon and Eto whom the author just forgot about when showing what happened to everyone in a “Where are they all now” sort of scene
