Russian-Ukrainian-Polish Eternal Friendship Thread

And how does that matter?

Canada is turning into Nazi Germany as I type, so I don't give a rat's ass about Ukraine.

At least Putin is a leader and not a meat puppet of some "special interest group" like Turdeau-Castro and Braindead Biden.
IT matters because Biden launder's money through Ukraine, and he will defend it, and with American soldiers on the border, war is Imminent.

UNSC Security Council is gabbing on the thing.

Huge powerful word salads from Brazil and India using a lot of words and platitudes of 'Can't we all just get along?'

USA, Albania, Germany, Norway, Ireland and United Kingdom critical of Russia and calling for sanctions and the like.

Kenya, Gabon, Mexico and Ghana stating that Russia is bullying a smaller country, some reference parallels to colonialism and others are critical of Russia reinforcing ethnic and racial irredentism! (I didn't realize African countries didn't believe that Black Lives Matter sad).

China is babbling endless and stuff.

Russia is stating that Ukraine is the actual aggressor in all of this and has been shelling the Donbass constantly and responsible for the pipeline explosion and so forth and that they didn't want conflict but the aggressive Ukrainians did and will have to respond for their provocations.

Ukraine is making references to the 2008 Georgia conflict and like Putin did in his speech earlier, engaged in doing their own season recap before the season finale referencing glorious Russian history since 1991. Says there's a virus that escaped the Kremlin with no vaccine and its infected international institutions. Invoked Article 51 of the UN Charter for the Right to Self Defense, urged Russia to withdraw its invading forces and to re-engage in diplomacy and renounce its announcements of independence of the Donbass states.

UAE was there as well but someone once told me I'm a virulent Islamophobe so I won't give them the legitimacy of acknowledging their existence.

Ethnic and racial irredentism has been a huge thing since, what, the mid-19th century? Even before that?

Khan is a Muslim last name, isn't it, Husky_Khan?

In other words....just another day at the UN, and typical UN response to a crisis.

You quoted in another thread "the enemy of my enemy is my friend." I think some take that a bit too literally and superficially. I much prefer "the enemy of my enemy is my enemy's enemy. No more, no less."

I don't like Castro's bastard son Trudeau. I don't like ex-KGB shithead Putin either. I suspect the feeling is mutual with some others here.

But if you really are intent on seeking asylum in the Russian embassy, then by all means do so. No one here is stopping you.

Except Congress won't agree to declare war and the President is only going to do sanctions.
You should pay attention
I do pay attention, as I've said already in another forum, the Ukrainian crisis is a UN problem, and if the UN decides to intervene, which it does indeed look like they will, then the US has to get involved, or we would loose face. Especially with the 3k soldiers we have in Europe specifically for this situation.

Considering that Russia has a seat and veto power on the UN Security Council, and China who also has a seat is likely to go along with them? Chances of any sort of UN intervention are minimal at best, IMHO.

Two votes out of fifteen? While I do understand that there are Security council members that would vote no, the majority would vote for war, an eight to seven ratio at worst. Eight members of which have been rather vocal in their regard to the current situation.

Germany isn't gonna do anything. France either.
So 4 there. India will probably side with Russia, so 5.
The rest will abstain and that leaves the US and the UK.
And the UN ain't gonna do shit.
Only NATO would be useful and they already said fuck no.

Unless Russia hits a NATO cou try, US ain't getting invovled

You know we have like 11k on the border right? And they are just there to be deterencw so Russia doesn't push into NATO, because the size of those eunits won't do shot against that many Russians

Sorry, I should have added they have PERMANENT veto power as they have permanent seats on the UN Security Council. Unless it’s changed all the permanent voting members of the UN Security Council either have to vote in favor or abstain in order to authorize any sort of martial UN action. Any vetos from the permanent seats results in the proposal struck down.

The UN at best is a horribly managed international organization with some good intentions. Please note I said some, no need for the UN conspiracy hacks and haters to go bonkers as I don’t particularly care for the UN either. That said? They can’t even typically agree on when to take a common piss or select which toilet to piss in, they are not the omniscient masterminds some try to make them to be.

Well that sucks, I highly doubt people will let Russia march on yet another nation, we've seen what happens when you let the Ambitious get there way.

France is one of the louder of the hollerers, so IDK what makes you think that. Besides that India hates China, and by extension any Chinese Ally. The US wants to put the Russy's in their place, at least the leadership is hinting at that, and of course the UK has hated the Russians even before they booted Napoleon off his chair.

UN forces will not intervene although there may be some humanitarian efforts if such is practical. If so, they will probably offer it to both sides, but Russia won't allow any such thing on their soil (or their puppets') while the Ukrainians won't likely be in a position to deny aid.

There will be indirect NATO/US/European involvement but not direct involvement. (i.e. no such forces actually fighting Russian forces, but support via arms shipments, intelligence sharing, etc., while putting increased economic pressure on Russia via sanctions and embargoes, and possibly cyberattacks if they think they can do so with plausible deniability.)

China likes that Russia is pissing off NATO and the EU for a number of reasons, but isn't a fan of setting precedents like helping breakaway states break away (Taiwan) or violating a state's sovereignty on account of alleged mistreatment of ethnic minorities (Uighurs), even though nobody is really in a position to challenge them on their own. I suspect the Chinese wish the status quo hadn't blown up, and (correctly) see it as Russia's fault that it did. China will be weak support for Russia: continued partnership, no appetite for sanctions, but some "cmon bro really?" sentiment. Possible role as peacemaker.

India may not like Russia or China but it also doesn't like being seen to be too closely aligned with (subordinate to) western powers; I think it'll sit on the sidelines no matter which team it's rooting for/against.
