He's the special kind of neutral where people dogpile him for conducting business as usual in very active spite of the current geopolitical shitflinging. He's not helping the Jihadis, he's continuing service to the aid-work NGOs that have historically been in HAMAS's pocket but never officially condemned as part of it. Same as he wasn't giving service to the Russians, but rather denying the Ukranians the use of it in an offensive action in accordance with long-standing Starlink policy.

The check keeps clearing, so the data keeps going per prior agreements. Which were not and still aren't military in nature, but happen to facilitate military actions.

Not to mention but you have more liberal progressives asslicking China and/or Middle Easterners than anyone : the NBA/Taiwan debacles, Pixar, Disney,Apple, Activision, Epic Games (to a lesser degree), the whole bunch of medical whatevers that covered up what happened in Wuhan, many of the Dem lobbyists in Congress have been notoriously pro-China, Insomniac Games which removed anything LGBT in the Middle East releases or the current president of the USA who before being President was suspiciously pro-Saudi and pro-China.

Not to mention he is reason we (partially) have a breathing room for us to express our opinions outside of the Sietch. @mrttao remains banned so it is not perfect but it is not as much as it was the control room of public opinion it used to be.

Yup, this is a very unclear situation from the side. Legally Starlink is not exactly war material, even though theoretically it could be considered such, and any civilian with some money can get it, and so giving them away as charity to any civilian is no different.

Now physically getting the equipment to Gaza is a different matter, and keeping it there is yet another, as you can't put the sat dish in a tunnel.
And then there is also the open question of what did he mean by "recognised aid organizations".
Will he give it to every Qatari funded shady NGO that is legally registered as one, or did he mean Red Crescent and Red Cross?
And on yet another question, there is the issue that Israelis will certainly bring up, even if it's a NGO that's not a terrorist front, what will, say, Red Cross people do if a bunch of dudes with rifles bust into their place and say that they need to use their Starlink?

Today, as mentioned, came a response from Musk, who tweeted, "We are not so naïve. As of now, no attempt has been made to connect Starlink to Gaza. If such an attempt is made, we will take extreme precautions to confirm that the connection will only be used for humanitarian-civilian purposes."

They even "detained" a man who states he's an Uzbek born in Smolensk.



Local airport security and local police aren't apparently doing anything but there's reports that OMON or other special Police troops are responding.

Youtube channel Inside Russia which is run by a Russian who once lived in Moscow oblast but is now living in Uzbekistan (last I checked) has been covering events in Russia for several years. He has a video with some more info on the situation.

All this, and I'm betting Putin won't say a word to condemn it. Busy as he may be invading Ukraine, I get the distinct feeling that as in most things, he and the Russian elites don't give much of a shit when their power isn't threatened. :(

Given all the shouts of "Allahu Ackbar!" and Palestinian flags being carried around, I suppose these are by and large Russian Muslims acting out here. Doesn't appear to be many (if any) average Russians hunting for Jews in that footage, though; while Russia itself has a long history of rabid Anti-Semitism, my sense is that Orthodox Russians are no longer perpetrating most of the pogroms over there, if you know what I mean.
 
It's being allowed and encouraged to happen. There are 20, 000 Ministry of Interior and another 5000 KGB soldiers there to suppress the uprisings from the conscription. Suddenly all that military power is gone. When three days ago they were at every checkpoint and government building and every gathering was being gassed

That’s why I don’t believe you when you say Russia is kgbstan. Russia acts like old empire. The core regions like St. Petersburg are semi civilized. While the regions that aren’t Russian but are Chechen or Dagestani are made up of local groups when Russia prevented the Chechen from gaining independence that region did not become Russian. They still live barbaric but they agreed to be like a feudal contract with the government. The locals do what they want as long as they fly the Russian flag and send men to fight for the tsar I mean president.
