So basically a Democrat-dominated US would make the states as powerless as the Canadian provinces then? I could not imagine a kind of Reconstruction 2.0 going the Radical route in this case.

It depends which country they are coming/came from. Like, really depends. Cubans vote R heavily, because they saw Communism. There's a reason why the only people getting kicked out are Venezuelans. The Legal/Illegal thing is sorta irrelevant there.
Most of the people being let in are voting D though, that's the key problem.

Precisely. The Dems have been fanning racial animus for centuries. They know how to play the game better than the Southern politicians do.
The key is to bank on the fears of minority communities by provoking the fears of the majority.
That's not why they are favoring Ds at all though. The people coming in favor Ds because Ds are letting them in. Literally that simple. They don't actually buy into the racial stuff, they are just already bought.

And there you have it. The more people the Dems let in, the more voters they have. And the more voters they have, the less the opinions of the only consistently red voting bloc in America matter.
The issue is trying to associate that with Hispanics in general. There's a difference between hispanics, hispanic immigrants, and hispanic illegals. They all have different voting patterns, and the immigrants can't even vote for quite some time.
Most times troops have shot people in the US, were by national guard forces not by Federal troops (since civil war obviously)
