Prague Zoo now hosts some rare batagur baska turtles born at the zoo. It's believed roughly a 100 mature turtles of these species, which can live for upwards of a century, are left in the wilds of India and Bangladesh and those part of the Prague Zoo preservation project were found by local villagers who gave them over to animal rescue services.
In their ongoing effort to preserve this rare species of turtles, the Czech zookeepers apparently decide to keep these grinning shellheads in the same pond as the crocodilians...
