I am about to start episode 5.

So far, as a fan, it is seem very respectful to its audience. Most of it. Maybe you can say 2 actors are diversity hires but even then its very tame.

And the protagonists, antagonists and other characters don't feel excessively hyperbolic like some I felt while playing NV and FO3 or FO4.

To me, until now, they feel much more human.

It feels like whoever made this show saw "Rings of Power" and collectively in unison said "YEAH, LET'S NOT DO THAT!"

Don't have Prime so I was able to catch the first fraction of Episode One before we started watching what we actually wanted to watch on Prime.

But with that said the first 15-20 minutes I saw of the first episode made me want to keep watching. The opening scene with the birthday party seemed so cliche but as a Fallout fan you know what's going to happen and the buildup to the nuclear strikes was very well done and filling me with dread without going into narm. Think it captured the atmosphere well too.

Also liked the Vault scenes and the PipBoys being rightly used as the smartphones of the day. Dug the look and aesthetics and set designs and everything. Plot seems well enough from what I've seen of it so far as well. Main character seems neat enough and I'm digging the quirkiness of the Vault life.

Hope to finish the series as soon as I get a chance. This is light years above Rings of Powers first episode already. I think its working so far as a series for fans and non fans but again, only seen part of the first episode.

He liked it and thought it was better than other similar adaptations. He deliberately misses or misconstrues the criticism of the show by focusing around the old "Todd Howard hates New Vegas" theory. I generally don't trust anyone who uses "Daddy Howard" unironically.

To his credit he does criticize the logic behind VaultTech deliberately triggering the nuclear apocalypse "for profit", but then says the lore was never that important so its not that big of a deal.

To be frank Tim Cain's opinion matters quite a bit more to me in this case and he was behind the original game.

I honestly don't recall that part of Veronica's dialogue but I'll take your word for it. You do have to pressure Arcade to make him reveal it though.
And just because they aren't racist doesn't mean they will have no ingroup bias. It's natural and human to have one of those ya know.
