Biden's going to have the questions beforehand, be on massive amounts of dubiously legal performance-enhancing drugs, and will have someone in his earpiece telling him what to say. He's going to be fine, and the media will largely declare him the winner of the debate. Recall that they claimed Hillary Clinton won every debate (and the NYT even claimed Jeb won one! )—now I know I'm biased but that's certainly not how I remember it, and I wonder if there is a single moment any liberal could point to as an example of Hillary totally owning Orange Man. I think they just like saying it and then explaining she was just so presidential in all her responses.
But we all know the media will bury any particularly damning exchanges in the debates, flat out refuse to acknowledge they happened. I think the likely best-case debate scenario, short of a total Biden meltdown, is that he comes across as who he really is: a tetchy, insecure, belligerent, erratic, angry, and stupid old man. Millions of normie voters still have some sense of Joe Biden as, whatever else he may be, an amiable doofus at worst, a doting great-uncle who says weird but harmless things about 7-11 clerks and black kids at the pool. Essentially: normal, non-threatening, not a jerk like Trump. But in reality Joe is as much a humorless narcissist as Hillary. I actually think Biden coming off as a belligerent asshole for 90 minutes will do more to dent his prospects than would a literal pants-shitting episode, as NPC libs have shown even that wouldn't register as cause for concern ("The shit that comes out of Biden's ass is less offensive that the shit that comes out of Trump's mouth!!," they'd stirringly proclaim).
Biden genuinely thinks he has a higher IQ than Trump and would have beaten him up in high school. That this is self-evidently insane is still not apparent to everyone in the country, but will be after 90 minutes head to head. Hillary was so supremely confident in her ascendancy that she never really took Trump's bait, but Biden will absolutely bite. His swiiss-cheese brain can't help itself. I don't think he'll take a swing at Trump but he may start trying to do push-ups on stage.

The drug test is dumb. Let it go. Checking for ear devices is legit. We all know someone will be reading answers into his ear. Will he have it together enough to be coherent? Will he actually listen to them once Trump angers him? That's where Trump will win, is by provoking Biden into incoherent rants.
I'm going to watch this on OAN, so I get an unfilter/un-fact checked view of it.
Though to be blunt, I won't be broken up up if it cancelled at the last minute. With the info about refusing a drug test, and refusing to be checked for an earpiece out there, it shows this is a set up for the media to softball things to Biden (who probably has the answers already), there is no point to acting like this is a legit debate.
Now if the debate moderated by Joe Rogan happens, and they can get it done without Biden wearing an earpiece, then the debate might be meaningful.

At this point it's a matter of seeing if Biden is so mentally deficient that he can't win, even with all the assistance he will have.
It's stacked against Trump. Biden will be on whatever drug cocktail perks him up, will have an ear piece, and has probably had the questions and been rehearsing them for weeks.
But 9pm is probably past his bed time, so we'll see.
I wonder if the Trump team could fabricate a device that would interfere with bluetooth and disable his ear device..

It'll certainly be interesting. As Obama put it, "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up." Biden is just flat out stupid; the only reason he's gotten to where he is is a combination of 1) knowing how to hire people who can get things done, and 2) Being in a pair of roles that don't require *that* much effort to be successful, the latter of which he really only got by staying in the first one for 36 years.
In any case, two cantankerous old men known for going hilariously off-script should make for an interesting debate.
