Joking around at the range and not thinking about where they were then careless shot a friend by accident. It is not something I like talking about much. But suffice to say they got in a shit load of trouble.
Kentucky ballistics and the guys like him joke around in the fact that they have fun, but they tend not to break the main three rules.
And Kentucky Ballstics knows it better then anyone else why Eye pro is important.
He had a 50 explode in his face. And almost died.
He makes light hearted jokes about it all the time.

As long as they are treating weapons safely that is what matters

Sorry if I derailed things but joking around at a range has been a sore spot for me for 3 decades now.

Gun safety...I used to be in the Air Cadets, my first ever camp was RAF Catterick. The then home of the RAF Regiment. We had told we would probably use the computer operated range the Rock Apes had, but no luck. We went to a conventional range a few miles down the road in RAF Leeming. Strange thing is....the Range was built on the approach path to the runway, so everytime an aircraft was coming in to land we had to stop. Anyway, we got the full safety drill from the RAF range instructor.

What does one of our idiots do when finished....he stands up, with an SLR held at the hip, turns around holding it like something from a bad 80's film, saying to the Range master, "Sir, thats me finished". Two ways the RAF guy was pissed, calling an NCO 'sir' was a major no no, but after being told...never point a gun at someone unless you intend to use it...this chucklefuck does exactly that. Cue much swearing and cursing and said idiot is violently ejected from the range.

I got to see a private ejected from a foxhole at a range like he was a mortar round. I didn't think my Drill Sergeant was that strong...he was definitely motivated once the idiot Private pointed his range weapon at him though. (completely unintentional...just stupid). Poor bloody bastard was then 'smoked' for the rest of the range.

It is not the failure of the Idiot Private. It is the failure of the Drill SGT who allowed an Idiot Private to hold a weapon in the first place. Said some Gunny Sgt during World War 2.

We had a really stupid guy in the basic (thankfully his twin brother was in another platoon), before firing we were ordered to disassemble our guns and clear out the oil. The guy does it and then oils the barrel, guy next to him warns him about it, but he snaps at him that he knows what he is doing. So my turn to shoot comes and half way down the mag a fog starts coming from my right. I manage to finish my shooting and then look right, the next two guys are in a veritable smoke screen and the third guy was the idiot, getting screamed at by Sgt.

Next time, during disassembly he took off the lower handguard, which you are not supposed to do unless specifically ordered. He reattached it poorly and it came off during shooting.

Idiots are a fact of life in all branches of all armed forces, sgt are not omnipotent to be able to stop them all, especially when higher ups need to reach quotas.

Just going to point out you can tell who the dumbass is in the Boot Camp company by the end of week one. That is a universal rule. They will show how dumb they are by that point. You don't have to be omnipotent.

You have to prove they are not fit.
DS can't just initiate chapters

What?
That has nothing to do with what I said.
And did you even read what the freaking policy dictates? They have to prove by a doctor they are going through the process.
If they are not doing what is required they can be denied the exemption.

Also, no, they are not exempt from Height and Weight standards unless they get a 540 on the ACFT with at least 80 in all events..
And ads in they recently changed the tape for HW which actually is more accurate and stricter.

But hey, that is what you get for only reading a snap shot and not the entire Army Regulation

Ugh, the army fitness convo again? Much of the army aren't combat roles, or even near combat roles. They do maintenance/deskwork/something else. There's no need for them to be fit.

If they lower the physical requirements for combat roles (especially SF), I care. Otherwise, I really don't care. It doesn't matter how fat your predator pilot is as long as he's got good hand eye coordination and can fit in his desk chair.

My chief is in his 40s and is a big guy. Like gut and everything.
He can get above a 540 on the ACFT.
We are intel.
Size can be deceiving.
Bigger does not mean fatter in the sense they are not fit.

Are the huge football players who would be considered fat...well fat?

But this is something that Congress seems to agree on.
At least as far as I can tell.
With a harder gender neutral one for SF and combat roles.
SF generally has thier own anyway which is harder.

How about this then? Also, you ignored my initial post; which was manpower shortages.

Buba

A total creep
Anybody ever found a video showing somebody shooting the grenade launcher part of the M28 Tromboncino?
In the case of ordinary grenade adapters the recoil was so vicious that the norm was to fire with the butt (the rifle's) against the ground. But the Tromboncino used the hi-low principle, hence maybe the grenade can be fired from the shoulder?
No, Battlefield V as source of infromation does not count :)

Yes we have manpower shortages.
Welcome to life under a Democrat president.
Look at what it was like under Carter.
