It's not a mask slip, it's a tactical choice. By talking openly about it they can counter the claim that there is a conspiracy. They can use that to gaslight people and slowly erode their morals and ideas, getting the average person to see this coup as normal instead of the absolutely horrendous thing it will be because "the news spoke like it was normal so it is". I also think they severely underestimate the public perception and the lower classes. The elites are so far inside their own asses they don't realize how retarded this is because they have surrounded themselves with yesmen and true believers who keep their own narrative bubble going and any threat to the narrative is expunged. The worst part is I think a civil war might be the best possible outcome. Because if progressives keep moving forward with their goals, it will be much worse than millions dead. This really is the best possible result at this point. It's also the most likely possible result at this point. The Dems already running stories about how 'it'll look like Trump won, but actually Biden will have run,' that scares me.
