Don’t suppose there’ve been spats of political violence there before? I’d assume so, though to my mind, nothing quite as extreme as this.

Honestly, as much as we've been fucked with the past few years, my kneejerk reaction is to assume this is a set-up of some kind.

Well, I’d be open to having my mind changed if evidence is presented in court or if a FOIA request unveiling the right documents goes through.

However, while I know the US government’s had its streak of black-op “shenanigans”, what I know so far tells me that loonies on the Right are also starting to radicalize. Sure, I know it’s mostly been the Left that’s gotten away with this stuff, but if the Right responding in kind was mostly fake before, something tells me it’ll become all too real before the decade ends.

No, it's more Breaking Bad is a rather realistic documentary of how fucked and corrupt civil society in NM in general is, and how the state is socially screwed due to cartel influence in pretty much every town that is not a DoD/army town.

Violence of this sort happening in NM is only notable this time because an ex-GOP candidate is the one who perpetrated it.

And this time, the Neocons and Neolibs won’t have much choice in cracking down on Antifa and other Neocommunist militants after their homes and offices get attacked or vandalized.

Not ruling out the Establishment becoming complacent and stabbed in the back, of course, though I’m sure they’ll try to “co-opt” them and pass certain items on their wishlist that align with their goals more than the actual Far Left’s.

Besides, just because the Left eats its own doesn’t mean the Far Left is always the one eating. First counterexample I can think of is Stalin purging Trotsky, as the former (brutal and mass-murdering despot that he was) was more of a pragmatic realist who realized the USSR wasn’t ready for World Revolution just yet. The latter … yeah, not so much.
