I'm close to that situation myself and in a similar timeframe. I watch the weather and otherwise ignore it, and will periodically pick up a single show to binge if I see a lot of authors I follow writing fics for it and want some context. Otherwise not much, I don't need it.
For me it was about 20 years ago.

My thoughts back then were "this is all re-hashed BS that I've already seen before". I switched to Anime and, artwork aside, was quickly just as mind-numblingly bored.

Where's the cutoff point, then?
Literally what I just said.

Anything that aired entirely before 2000? That was definitely "back in the day". For instance: The A-Team.

Anything that began airing before 2000 and ended in 2012 or earlier? That qualifies as "back in the day". For instance: Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Anything that started airing before 2000 but ended after 2012, or is even still airing? That's not "back in the day". For instance: long-running soap series.

Anything that starter airing as of 2000, regardless of when it ended? That's not "back in the day". For instance: 2004's Battlestar Galactica.

You could maybe refine this a little, but it struck me as a fairly decent approach to get a gut-based indication of what's actually "back in the day".

Alright, then. Just asking.

When I was growing up I think the shows I watched a lot Comedy wise were

Seinfeld (1989-1998)
The Beverly Hillbillies (1962-1971)
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (1990-1996)
Frasier (1993-2004)
Garfield & Friends (1988-1995)

I didn't watch many sitcoms past that or comedy shows in general except maybe as background binging for whatever reason.

As for old school non-comedy shows, Walker: Texas Ranger was exceptional entertainment.

Apologies for asking, but are you male or female?

Anyway, re: Garfield & Friends, there's actually a relatively recent new Garfield show:

You can find its episodes for free on YouTube and/or Netflix.

Also, what I find interesting is that one could have been born back when US President James A. Garfield was still alive and still lived long enough to watch Garfield & Friends. 1988 - 1881 = 107 years, an age that a few people actually manage to live to.
