Money.

The average person living in Austin is about 30-35% wealthier than the average person living somewhere else in Texas.
To be fair, the cost of living in Austin is higher as well. I know that my family who are living in Austin are paying something like 30% more than me for their apartment. And their apartment has roughly the same amount of floor space as mine.

True, but that higher cost of living also comes with higher salaries. If you're saving 10% of your paycheque the increased salary you get from living in a high cost area more than compensates for the increased amount of money you must spend just to live there.*

* Locales with a borked housing market like San Francisco or Manhattan are excluded from this opinion.

I think this is more or less the place to put this article. Was considering the china thread, but It's much more about the National Review and "weak" conservatives, with China just a foil to explore the weakness.

Anyone remember Chris Chan, the internet's most infamous autist?

Apparently he's been removed from his home for literally fucking his own mother. There's audio of him admitting to it.

Just thought I'd let you know.

The Chris Chan stuff is especially disturbing because he has been able to get away with assault and battery on random people and literal attempted murder in the past and there's entirely a chance he may be back fucking his mother in a matter if weeks.

Trans people truly are the new protected class.

Edit @Zachowon this is another fad pagan and furry because of course it is.

also I read the transcripts and its....its....vomit inducing.

So LA, bastion of progressivism has banned homeless encampments to the fury of their usual fan club. It's a subject I've grown curious about since Joe Rogan started asking most of his guests about it recently. According to some of what I've found out many large cities literally farm the homeless by launching increasingly expensive policies to house the homeless, frequently to the point that it would just be cheaper to give said vagrants the money. LA apparently spent $619 million on homelessness in 2019 and the expenditure has only gone up since then.

At this point it’s pretty obviously it’s a basic bitch jobs program for SJW types. It helps add value to their hyper liberal degrees and puts money in the right pockets. It’s clear they have no interest in solving any kind of problems. Hell, they closed down all the mental institutions that used to house these people.
