Sad news from the Philippines. Reports confirm that former Philippine President Benigno SC Aquino, III, who served as the 15th President of the Philippines from June 30th, 2010 to June 30th, 2016, passed away in his sleep according to his family.

He was 61 years old. This leaves only 3 former Philippine Presidents: Fidel V. Ramos (1992-1998), Joseph Estrada (1998-2001) & Gloria Macapagal Arroyo (2001-2010)

Benigno Aquino III - Wikipedia

He was the son of the late Philipine Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr., & the late 11th President of the Philippines Corazon Cojuangco Aquino.

It was nice that he signed the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement, especially before that madlad Duterte came storming in. The United States military leaving the Philippines back in the early 90's had a real rough impact on the local population, economy as well as their security situation. Also he had an official visit to Vietnam which was the start of the most surprising bromance in recent years. And it was funky seeing the new skyways in Manila being built so I guess he invested in infrastructure as well? I don't have much else to say about him.

Pity he turned out to be just as corrupt (maybe not quite as bad as Arroyo) as every other President of the Philippines of course... before and since. :sneaky:

Kris Aquino, the youngest of the Aquino 5 kids, confirms that Noynoy was cremated at The Heritage Memorial Park in Taguig City & from the looks of it, the funeral will be restricted to just family & friends. He'll be buried at Manila Memorial Park next to his parents.
