Images Funny Pictures and Memes - You know you want them, here we have them!

Political Memes Thread is right here, guys. Seriously, it wouldn’t kill you to think twice before posting in the wrong thread.
Maybe, though really, we've both been on here long enough to know better.

But whatever. Guess a lot of the people I've called out for not thinking before posting just can't help themselves. 🤷

Genuinely asking but how you consider those two memes of mine political?

Genuinely asking but how you consider those two memes of mine political?

Because they deal in current events tied to certain political movements that people always bicker about.

Would love it if everyone laughed and left it at that, but let's face it: anything having to do with black-washing, stingy CEOs, and anything else that Left or Right-wing audiences have particularly "strong feelings" on and will argue to the ends of the Earth about is political nowadays. "Politics is downstream from culture!", as the phrase goes.

It would help a lot if it were called that.
To be fair, the previous one wasn't either, but it also had the restriction that you couldn't post in that thread to discuss the memes without posting one yourself, which I found rather asinine. But, I mean, it's in the political forum, and this thread isn't - it's in the pub.

pet possum huh? she crazy.

All of NYC is batshit bonkers.

I was attracted to "alt" / "goth" / "emo" girls that had pet critters so that is NOT a big red flag (still is, just I dated crazier women). The crazier part for me is that she thinks paying 3000 dollars monthly is normal and I am saying this as someone who lives in a place that has condominium fees at 2000 euros per month (though I don't KNOW if it is because there is three people in the house, me, my mom and my sis).

I did some research and math for my neck of the woods.

$3,000/mo for the 30yr FHA mortgage, property taxes, and homeowners insurance can buy 4 bedrooms with a nice yard in a good neighbourhood. $15k covers the down payment and upfront MIP.

If you bought that 20yrs ago and haven't refinanced you're looking at about $1,200/mo with $76k and 10yrs left on the mortgage.

3k a month for that apartment in new york city is actually cheap. I'd expect closer to 5k or 6k for that.

Money-wise it will be VERY expansive to rent a room untill I have the currency to buy a house but I would feel much safer in a way. I am biased because my father is a bastard banker head of credits ( I don't know the equivalent in the US) and I feel the bankers are like legalized loansharks so I am not going to trust my future and have more than 1 year loan.

NYC has rent stabilization laws limiting how much the rent can increase when an apartment's lease gets renewed. She's clearly been there for a while.

A bit of quick googling says that getting a mortgage and buying a house in Italy is a fairly standardized process.

Very few bankers are like your dad.

*Rolls eyes.*

Guess there's no escape from politics on this site, no matter where I go. Clearly, some people have politics on the brain and just can't help themselves. :cautious:

... politics?

Okay, maybe I was overreacting a bit.

I still think it's a bit tiring when people "innocently forget" we have a separate thread for political memes. And given how often people bring it up here, a break would be nice — especially when the thread they're posting in meant to be a non-political thread.

It is.

One of the few perks in Italy on mortages is that they cannot act in an inhumane way and homeowners. So anything that would usually happen in the US when someone doesn't manage to pay (usually regardless of the reasons).
I don't know about you but even if they are not demonic bastards I don't feel like feeling getting into debt. It is one more unkown factor I wouldn't like to put in my life.
