Greek Islanders on Lesbos Attack Police over new Migrant Center

The AP news article is here.

But basically Greece has been using its many islands to house incoming migrants while trying to process them, much to the local's displeasure. With the government planning to build more secure facilities to accommodate an increasing number of incoming migrants and a slow processing rate the islanders started protesting, leading to the government sending in riot police from the mainland. Rioters have attacked the cops with molotovs and shotguns, injuring 43. The Greek government is meeting with the island's mayors to hammer out an agreement but insists that the new migration facilities will be built. Amazingly, only 10 rioters have been injured and I think two arrested, so the police are definitely softballing.

For a little reference, Lesbos has a native population of 85,000 people and is currently housing an estimated 21,000 refugees and migrants. The locals want all of them gone.

They need to watch out or they'll get this:

Anyway, it's ridiculous to make Lesbos take these migrants. Or Greece at all. They should all be sent back. That goes for every European nation.

I just noticed the story because it mentioned that two of the cops were injured by shotgun fire. If you're like me you just kind of assume that guns are extinct in civilian Europe so it was rather eye-catching.
Guns have never been 'extinct' in Greece; they've been hoarded and hidden by everyone from anti-Nazi partisans to local towns people who fear pirates or fear the Turks getting expansionist again.

Greece may have finacial and economic woes, but they have not forgotten how to fight or the value of an armed populace.

Also hunting rifles and shotguns are still around all over Europe.

I think this means that guys in the cities will try disarming them all, it could get bloody

Then again, I think they would rather murder all of the greek islanders than lose their precious "diversity"

If the locals really want them gone there's not much the mainland can do about it.

Worst case scenario they will blacklist the migrants from access to goods.

Not as if the migrants even have much money in order to buy from them, also they're likely receiving aide from the mainland

Also, you sure? I think the mainland would be willing to enforce martial law or risk stuff similar to those idiots from Virginia who even managed to make their local Black Panthers and non-Black-Bloc ANTIFA types team up with the rurals

Not likely, not unless the current government wants Golden Dawn to not just return but become a major player.
