Television HBO Cancels Westworld After Four Seasons

Never saw the show myself but its first season (and to a lesser extent second) were widely heralded but then apparently the show went off the deep end forgetting all of that "Westworld" part of the title and thus by the fourth season, ratings were down over 80% which led to the cancellation of the show after the fourth season, despite supposedly planning on needing only one more season to properly finish the story.

Hopefully all of those poor storyrunners and writers can be scooped up by some other television series and can start writing ambitiously bloated plotlines preaching modern social activist messages and themes relevant and reflective of the world of today whilst using what made the show or its source material originally so inspiring or successful as mere window dressing for the saga they want to tell.

Westworld would have worked better as a two season show. I watched them and the frist season deserved the hype it got with the second being dceent.

But you could tell that the show told its tale by the end of season two and they where out of good idea of where to go. This is a problem that lots of shows have. They start out great the original team has a plan for a couple of seasons but afterwards quality starts to drop.

For all the hate that nerd sites like to give Big Band Theory more shows could use Jim Parsons to call things to an end before the show truns bad like Scrubs or NBSG.

First season was truly excellent, and while the plot during season 2 was mediocre in comparison it still had many instances where it truly shone. It only collapsed in the end, which then lead me to not even bother with season 3.

I think it was preachy crap that had nothing to do with the source material.

It was also full of the usual J.J. Abrams mystery box/non-linear narrative tricks.

The first season was moderately entertaining but it went downhill after.

Also, I liked the black hat dude.I think I watched it solely for him.

When I was a kid I actually really liked the original Westwood movie, which I saw on TCM/TNT, this thing I was never sold on.
