Given I have seen a number of people showing a complete lack of understanding in concerns to what was in the transcript going "No, no this is totally damning". It's probably going to be something the far left tries to run into the ground while moderates generally ignore.

The file is apparently not a outright transcript as in word for word, its a summary of the talk. The word for word part is going to require the actual recording to be released. But the problematic part for Trump is:



The quid pro quo part may arguable be basically:

Trump talks about how the US has been good to Ukraine, the Ukrainian president agrees then goes on to say he'd like to buy more weapons. But then Trump says 'I would like you to do us a favor' and after that is basically back and forth about working with his lawyer and attorney general to dig up dirt on his opponents and start investigation into Biden's son.

Thing is if its not word for word, your assertions runs into a very big problem. It relies heavily on implications in the conversation and that itself relies heavily on word for word. You can't argue it was in the wording and pacing of an argument if you don't know exactly the words and pacing of the argument.


And since the main assertion was that Trump was trying to get Ukraine to forge evidence against Biden, the main gist of the argument against Trump is thrown out the window.

it's not the "quid pro quo" in and of itself, it's that it's theoretically involving a domestic political rival.

I think it would be a 50-50 chance of people either denying that the sky is blue or deciding that it is a code phrase and coming up with all sorts of conspiracy theories.
