Breaking News January 6th Stop the Steal Rally & Capitol Breaching/Storming

So, being serious, you're suggesting that the vaccinations are merely insincere pretext, right? If not, I'm really struggling to imagine anyone having the power to throw untold numbers of people in camps but not to just force them to get vaccinated, and considering the amount of extra effort the former would take surely anyone actually trying to do disease control would just do the latter. That's even before considering what happens when you concentrate all the people most susceptible to the disease.
I am predicring atrocities in general even if the exact details aren't correct.

Likely what happens is they lose their jobs and then homes and then have to move into the camps.

Or it's decided that they're extremists and need to be placed in camps.

Scary things are coming when the party in power is currently, and in no uncertain terms, comparing half the country to the Taliban and Al Qaeda. These aren't just randos on Twitter sharing memes. This is the president, former president, senators, congress members, all doing this.

They're focussing on their enemies at home, and they're embarrassed and pissed off about their blunders in the mideast.

We aren't being painted as political enemies. We're being painted as terrorists, traitors, enemies of the United States. the kind of enemies you go to war with and kill.

This is a really dangerous step they've taken. Shit is not likely to end peacefully at this point.

There is a small problem with telling people that dissent against the government is treason. Once long ago a Chinese officer was leading his troops to a meeting point. He looked at them and asked a simple question.

"What is the penalty for rebellion."

"Death."

"What is the penalty for being late?"

"Death"

"Well since we are already late. We might as well rebel."

You need a vent hole for people's frustration. Because they could be seeing things the ivory tower-dwelling idiots are unaware of. Plus.....this will also lead to infighting amongst the Dems because they are not a united whole and will want a larger slice of pie for their special interests.

The US is preparing for it no matter what everyone else says
We better prepare for the inevitable World War III because of Biden's STUPID ass decision in withdrawing military troops out of Afghanistan will come back to haunt this WEAKLING dementia-ridden expletive when the United States gets attacked by terrorists again.

I cannot wait for the GOP resurgence in 2022, 2024 & beyond!

We were going to pull out no matter what

In other words: Afghanistan was a lost cause from the get-go.
We should have left once Osama was dead.

Trying to 'nation build' in the Graveyard of Empires was the height of folly.

It was just an excuse to launder taxpayer money through the military to enrich certain companies and groups, while also trying to play for position over A-stans mineral wealth.

We needed to leave, but Biden did it in the stupidest, most assbackwards way possible in order to say we were 'Out by 9/11's 20th' when he already broke the deal Trump made to get us out by the end of May.

Because the Leadership class is in it's own little echo chamber and believes, BELIEVES that their perception of reality will overwrite reality itself and become real. Because they have forgotten an old, old contract they have with the governed. "Nobility obliges."

Nobility Obliges mean you do take care of the little people. You listen to their concerns. You do not dismiss them out of hand because they are yelling from the cheap seats. You uphold your end of the deal and they vote you into office. You curtail some of your own self-interest because it will benefit others and allow you to grow richer, not by grabbing a larger slice of the pie but because your own slice grew due to the pie itself growing larger.

Things are definitely going to get worse because they will censor viewpoints that disagree with their own. Thus leading to the illusion that everyone agrees with them.

Indeed. You can rule as long as you give the citizens their Bread And Circuses. Too many leaders have started thinking the circus would be more fun if they didn't have to share it with all those proles, and they can save money by cutting down bread rations. That never ends well.

You seem to forget that a lot of people on the Right also want to do away with the circus and bread, because they just see it as getting in the way of people being 'macho/manly men' or 'returning to tradition'.

They have that obsession with the 'Bad Times Breed Hard Men/Forth Turning' cycle of history crap, and feel if the circus is stripped away they will be able to push the cycle forward faster.

All you need to do is look at the likes of Fuentes and the neoreactionary Right to see what I am talking about.

Naw, I'm pretty much "A pox on both your houses" as far as US politics goes, I don't care a lot for the right either and they're managing to screw up just as much.

I know that feel; if we had a viable third party, I'd be all over that shit.

The GOP establishment is a joke of a controlled opposition, as their reaction to Trump's Admin showed and lack of meaningful reaction to Biden's bullshit has continued to show; they want Trump's base (or maybe not, looking at Dubya's speech yesterday), but not Trump's polices or the more blue collar vocabulary he brought with him.

'A pox on both your houses' definitely feel like a more and more honest way to describe how many people view American political parties and their antics.

Yep, they want the Trump base without doing anything that base wants to see done. It's what has sealed the fate of the GOP and why I am not so sure of a smashing 2022 and 2024 like other people. Quite a lot of people just see the GOP as being RINOs and simply do not care anymore. Sure it's not quite endemic yet but I would say a good 1/3rd of the Trump base simply refuses to vote for GOP candidates unless they are approved by Trump and other MAGA standards. And the fact is the GOP leadership of McConnell and the likes refuses to accept that. They really think they can just bury their heads in the sand, stand their ground on the "storm of populism" and go back to the same game they were playing from 1992 to 2012.

It won't. That time is dead. The game has changed. The fact is they can't do what Boris does in the UK of doing everything the left wants just in slow motion and still be called a conservative. The pressure is high and the voters have lost faith on the ballot box. We are reaching near 50% of voters thinking the 2020 election was rigged/stolen. That isn't good. People who think their votes don't matter will not stand for a democracy they see as a farce. And the complete refusal to audit and check the results has only cemented the doubt. They sacrificed the long term survival of trust in the vote for short acceptance and "return to normal". This will never go away, and a lack of investigation will only make it easier to claim it was fixed in the future.

Really? Iraq is one thing, but what does a landlocked non-oil-producing country on the literal other side of the planet have to offer that we can't get better elsewhere? Or do you mean it was an attempt at denying others access?
the Leadership class is in it's own little echo chamber and believes, BELIEVES that their perception of reality will overwrite reality itself and become real.
Reminds me of the old quote from someone in the GWB administration (believed to be Karl Rove):
The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community," which he defined as people who "believe that solutions emerge from your judicious study of discernible reality." I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism. He cut me off. "That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued. "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."

It would be funny, if men like this didn't have power over how the nation is governed. People will study, all right. And the future will judge.

Yeah so Afghanistan has mineral wealth. Not like it's the only place in the world that does. Why spend 20 years bleeding in Afghanistan for allegedly the world's largest lithium supply when we can just get it from South America instead probably a lot cheaper?

I never said it was justifiable, just that it was part of the equation.

I think keeping those minerals out of the CCP's hands was more the idea than using them ourselves.
